Publisher's Description
From LIGHTNING UK:
ImgBurn is a lightweight CD/DVD/HD-DVD/Blu-ray burning application that has several modes, each for performing a different task: Read - read a disc to an image file; Build - creates an image file from files on your computer or network (you also can write the files directly to a disc); Write - write an image file to a disc; Verify - ensure that a disc is 100% readable (you can also have ImgBurn compare it against a given image file to ensure the actual data is correct); and Discovery - used in combination with DVDInfoPro, you can check the quality of the burns your drive is producing.
What's new in this version: Version 2.5.5 adds support for /NOSAVELOG command line switch (see ReadMe.txt for usage and support for /FILESYSTEMONLY command line switch (see ReadMe.txt for usage).

"Works for burning ISO images & regular files to CD/DVD"
Version: ImgBurn 2.5.5
Pros
Application works and it's free (thanks to the developers)!
Cons
It's little more complicated and requires extra steps (ie. converting .cue files to iso before proceeding to burn file)
Summary
The Roxio app included on my laptop was just too lame and buggy; wouldn't burn images onto my dvd. I really like my old NTI CD Maker software that was on my desktop but I lost the app when my hard drive died.
ImgBurn has more settings and the interface will be a bit unfamiliar compared to the other ripping software most folks may have used - but just take the plunge and experiment with it. That's what I did and finally figured out the steps when I used it to burn Ubuntu ISO files and also regular files from my computer or other dvds to disk. -

Version: ImgBurn 2.5.5
Pros
Easy to use, worked
Cons

Summary
I had to create multiple DVDs of a family movie from an m4v file (from iMovie). I used DVD Flick to create the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS files from the mp4 file, then used ImgBurn to create multiple copies of the DVD. I found some helpful instructions on AfterDawn and ClubMyce.com and was able to quickly crank out 4 DVDs for the family.

"Not stable. Wasted a CD and uninstalled."
Version: ImgBurn 2.5.5
Pros
- Small, easy to use,
- no ads
- free to useCons
- Not stable
- Does not do what it promised (crashed and killed CD)
- No direct CD copy button available (user has to create image, burn image, then delete image)
- No languages other than english selectableSummary
Created an image from an audio CD. Then tried to burn this new image. Lots of error messages appeared. Pressed the cancel button. The software crashed, the CD became useless. Uninstalled the software.
I may have to add that the software is mainly targeted as an image burner. It may be better suited than other packages for this purpose. However it should have been able to burn an image that it created itself. It was unable to do that, and I did not give it a second attempt.
No recommendation, all this did for me is kill a fresh writeable CD. There are enough other software packages available which are free as well and actually work. Try ashampoo burning studio free.
