ImgBurn is a lightweight CD/DVD/HD-DVD/Blu-ray burning application that has several modes, each for performing a different task: Read - read a disc to an image file; Build - creates an image file from files on your computer or network (you also can write the files directly to a disc); Write - write an image file to a disc; Verify - ensure that a disc is 100% readable (you can also have ImgBurn compare it against a given image file to ensure the actual data is correct); and Discovery - used in combination with DVDInfoPro, you can check the quality of the burns your drive is producing.
Version 2.5 adds An 'Advanced' input mode to build mode where you have total control over the layout of the disc and can add new folders, change names etc. and Optional logging when hidden or system files/folders are skipped in Build mode due to the current settings.

Once you get to know this program, it's very simple and easy to use. Also fast to burn images and other file types to CDs. Should be on the Editor's Ratings Lists as well. Ease of use is key here.

Yes it has a different GUI layout that I've seen and for that, took me a bit to sort out how to use it but once I got it going, it was a snap :D

Worked great in an Win XP enviroment. Program layout is straight forward and simplistic enough for even the casual user.
Cons
None as of yet. I used it to create a bootable CD from an .iso and that's what I got.
Summary
If you've spent as much time as I have looking for a simple way to boot a utilities CD, this program can greatly help by providing a way to get that .iso onto a CD.

Many settings and options that are hidden in Roxio and Nero burners. Someday I shall learn to use these properly, but meantime it has successfully done just about everything asked of it (but see below).
Cons
One thing that either it doesn't do, or I haven't figured out how to do, is to add files to a disk that is partially full.

It might have something possibly to do with Win7 or my optical drive, but IMG Burn Produces Corrupted data disks in Win7. The majority of data discs of video files will stop playing sometime into the film, and the rewind function doesn't work on them
Summary
Adding to con above- I did try changing settings, and also set the program to verify data as well. Once a corrupted disk is burned, windows will not let you copy the file either... One disk won't play. I Found that, even though it has few options, THE BURNER BUILT INTO WINDOWS IS MUCH BETTER- STICK WITH THAT. Have not tried the program with XP, and I skipped Vista.... SKIP IMG Burn, unless they update it....

doesn't recognize all the image types is says it does.
Summary
All in all it performs its basic tasks with the greatest of ease, and throws in myriads of features for the real DVD-burning geeks out there. I enjoy this software a lot!
