This program helps you organize images on your computer by putting them in a database. It's a worthy task, to be sure, but this complicated program is not for casual users seeking to organize their digital photo collection. ImageKeep offers some advanced querying and indexing features that might be of use to professional photographers, but offers very little in the way of hand-holding. This is apparent right at the start, when ImageKeep Express asks you to create an ImageBase with either IBX or IMB extensions, without explaining the difference between them. Once you have selected one of these options, you're asked to enter preferences such as thumbnail size and the file information you want displayed, and you can either choose images to include in your database or mass-import images from entire files via the Insert Images wizard, which is not particularly easy to find. Previews of the images appear on the right side of the program window, above a list of detailed information about each image. The software has some rudimentary editing functions, such as rotation and size changes. The process of adding images to an already created ImageBase is extremely complicated, but professional photographers or graphic designers might find the database functionality useful.Publisher's description
From Technology Associates :ImageKeep Express is a professional image database program designed to help you organize your digital image files by storing them in a special database called the ImageBase, associating user-defined properties (such as a description, the name of the photographer, and the date the image was taken) with each image, and providing sophisticated indexing and querying capabilities. The program supports many file formats including BMP, DIB, GIF, JP2, JPC, JPEG, PCD, PCX, PNG, PSD, TGA, and TIFF. It creates an actual database of images (the ImageBase) instead of scattering descriptions and other image data in folders all over your hard drive. Features include full-text keyword indexing and searching.
