CNET Editors' review
Image Resizer Powertoy for Windows XP provides resized images with a few simple button clicks. Users should not expect fancy graphics or tutorials, but instead will find an intuitive feature that makes sizing much simpler.
The program's interface is very easy. All commands are performed via clicking a radio button to choose the size. There are a few other options, but all are presented the same way. The program provides no Help file, but is so easy to operate we are confident people will not need it. Users simply find a photo that they want to resize and right-click it. In the menu of options is one for resizing. Here a new menu appears with options to create a new size ranging from small, middle, large, or handheld PC. There is also a customized option where the user inputs the dimensions. Once this is selected, a resized copy of the photo is created instantly in the same folder as the original. We were pleased with how quickly and effectively this process happened. In addition to resizing, the program offers a feature that allows users to resize the original picture and not create a copy. We felt this was a considerate option for users without a lot of spare room on their hard drives.
With an incredibly simple interface and excellent results, this freeware program is a dream come true for users who have to resize on the fly.

"Simple to use! - Fast!"
Version: Image Resizer Powertoy for Windows XP 1.0
Pros
Very simple to use and fast "lightweight" program that adds "Resize Pictures" option to Windows Explorer right click menu. -- Quickly get resized images with the new size indication added to file name!
Cons
Minor Complaint: Wish the file name addition when images are resized was "--640w" Vs "(small)" or "--800w" Vs "(medium)," etc., so could use new resized image file name "as is" on a web site.
Summary
Works well to quickly re-size a group of large size files to 640 wide size -- or other available sizes or "custom" -- for use on a web site or in e-mail. Select images to re-size in Windows Explorer, right click and select size to re-size to in pop-up box, and click "OK." Re-sized Images quickly appear at end of same folder with (small, medium, large, etc.) added to the end of the file name indicating their new size. Easy to use for one or a large group of image files! A great addition to the Windows XP Powertoys group!
