  "Good, but not perfect"

  Pros

  Was able to deocde and convert most DVD's attempted
  Created files that worked well for use in Handbrake

  Cons

  Was unable to read 1 DVD & mis-converted another DVD out of 15 tried
  Was expecting a free-ware option, not a limited trial period of a pay product

  Summary

  My goal was to convert my DVDs for playback on iPod & iPad. I was told about Handbrake for the conversion, but it didn't work well working straight from DVD.
  
  Searching the web for options, I found multiple sites that referred users to use "DVD43" for free (no mention of trial period only) initial decoding and conversion from DVD. Multiple searches for "DVD43" kept leading me to "Ideal DVD to PSP Converter", so I assumed it must be another name for the same thing.
  
  On the very first DVD I tried, it kept getting hung up on the initial scan. I was very disappointed, but decided to try another DVD. It scanned and converted just fine. Handbrake was able to convert it to the correct file-type without issue. I was able to convert 10 DVDs before I was required to buy the full version.
  
  I downloaded the software on another computer to convert more DVDs. All worked fine except 1 that converted, but when watching it, I found out that it was not created sequentially. The film jumped all over, without reason. I retried the Handbrake conversion, but got the same effect.
  
  So, Ideal DVD to PSP Converter seems to work most of the time, but it wasn't the free option that I thought I was being directed toward.
