Version: IconPackager 4.2
"Non-intuitive--But gets the job done"
Pros: Functional
Cons: Non-intuitive
Summary: If you're in Vista, which doesn't let you change the icon associated with any file to the icon you want to or need to use, then you'll find this application very useful. Once you've installed this app, just right click on the file (and by extension its file type) you want to change the icon for, and select "Change Icon", which is a listing that's added to the context menu by this app. The rest will make you feel like you're in Windows XP again--with full control over icon selection. You can even add a description to the file type so it stands out in the tiled views! Nice!
Kudos to the makers of this app for thinking of us. That said, there's no doubt that the designers really need to work on their interface skills. Whoa! Not easy to make sense of!
