"Icon Cool is Absolutely Terrible"
Pros: Liked? Nothing!
Cons: It's totally dependent on Photoshop to get the real work done. It can't seem to do anything other than supply the user with an impressive user interface. Maybe, they should've spent more time on making a usable product, and less on trying to impress us with useless features. I can't recall the last time I used ANY product that was totally this useless??? From the vectors being uncontrollable, to a pen that's just as bad... and directions, they give plenty in the help file, but none of them will do you much good. Save yourself a long and useless read - in the help file of this useless program, and instead find another of the many products that can convert an image to an icon for you, because that's all this one really does. To download.com: Please offer us a NO-STAR Rating, because it really bothered me having to give it 1 so I could get my message posted.

"This is an easy learn and useful program to transform images to icons"
Pros: You can learn how to use this program in less than one minut, and you obtain the wanted result

"Actually Allows multi-layered icons! Yay!"
Pros: It took a while to find one, but this program actually allows you to import external file formats and save them to different layers of an ico file.
The installer backs up system files it overwrites.
Cons: It can't open certain files - I haven't figured out what's differnt about them yet. (I resaved and it worked fine on round 2)
It has obnoxious file association and liveupdate popups on the first launch that only have "OK" and "Quit" buttons. (I just used the close window X)
Can't handle large images; you need to scale them down before importing.

"Very good, does what it says..."
Pros: Very good software - I did have a problem with registration, but heard back from Support in a few hours and problem was solved (Vista rights issue), so they seem to have sorted out the support problem mentioned in review of previous version.

Pros: A product for using at ease, it allows me to design icons as my expected although the functions are not most powerful in the
similar software. It is also stable under Windows Vista. I can design the cool icon without learning professional knowledge.
A worthy software for trying. I will purchase it immediately.
