"Needs work"
Version: IZArc 4.1.6
Pros
Open archives... barely.
Cons
Very buggy. Does not deliver on description. Did not repair a damaged archive. Does not recover passwords.
Summary
Very buggy on Vista-64 8gig and quad core.
* * * DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS GARBAGE! VIRUS LIKE BEHAVIOR! It failed to work properly, then after uninstalling, I found out that my installation of WinRar was deleted! It also installed some other garbage called Opencandy!

"Works perfectly for my needs! Great product, thanks!"
Version: IZArc 4.1.6
Pros
IZArc unpacks Zipped and RAR files without a hitch.
I do very little archiving so I just needed a basic tool that will do the job.
IZArc works perfectly for my needs.Cons
No cons here.
I'm no expert on this stuff but, for my needs, it's all good.Summary
Like I said, I do very little archiving and basically need a program that unpacks archive files.
This works perfectly for me.
I purchased W**Z** maybe 12 years ago and at that time the upgrades were free for life. Well that ended around version 9 or so.
When I upgraded and entered my ID number, they said it was not valid for new upgrades anymore and they told me I have to purchase a new license to validate the full version of the new software.
I was pretty disappointed with them and so I reverted back to the old version with my valid old ID.
After a while I found IZArc, WOW, a free program that does everything my version of W**Z** can do and MORE, so I'm sticking with it.
It works, it's free, and for me that beats the snot out of W**Z**!
By the way, W**Z** will give you a free license if you purchase something from one of their sponsors. "Buy 1 - Get 1 Fee". Hah.
No thanks W**Z**, I'm not blonde. I'll just forget about the "Buy 1" part and I'll just Get IZArc Free! -
"Great Program 2 Bad it's bundled with OpenCandy"
Version: IZArc 4.1.6
Pros
I got this program before whoever CNET? bundled it with OpenCandy and it opened everything I wanted. Even opened files that weren't meant to be opened by an extractor lol. Great Program if it's not bundled with OpenCandy.
Cons
It's bundled with known Adware OpenCandy. OpenCandy is a bundling software used by some software producers. It would be useful if OpenCandy didn't download Ads which aren't necessarily dangerous for your pc. But annoying. "Try this.." that crap.
Summary
If you do decide to download this program disable your antivirus antimalware/adware programs because OpenCandy will set off alarms. Once downloaded if you have the know how you could open the exe file in an editing software (I'm not saying which one cuz you should be an advanced user to do this) but only if the exe is a coded file and not an archive. If it's an archive then you wouldn't be able to open it cuz you have to extractor. If you could extract the files from it then you don't need this program lol.

"This software title was pre-installed on my computer."
Version: IZArc 4.1.6
Pros
It seems adequate for archiving.
Cons
Somewhat inflexible, simply basic functionality.

"contains 'virus'"
Version: IZArc 4.1.6
Pros
Very satisfied for years by its functioning
Cons
ESET online scanner says it contains virus OpenCandy and puts it in quarentaine/deletes it. Hard to determine possible harm by this virus. Must admit it is in the license agreement, but still....
Summary
I don't like to use software that triggers anti-virus...

"ISO-file didn't extract"
Version: IZArc 4.1.6
Pros
-Better interface than 7-zip
-Had a function to restore to associate zip with the default windows extractor, when it was uninstalled.Cons
-It couldn't see all files of my ISO-file when I extracted it. I downloaded 7-zip too, it worked.
-You can't change the associate filetypes once installed. The part of the window where you have to select the wanted associated filetypes remains grey.Summary
Probably other archives work well, so I won't give it a bad rating.

"Great Software"
Version: IZArc 4.1.6
Pros
Fast, easy to set up and use.
Cons
It is a little slow when opening extremely large files
Summary
Overall, this is a great product. People swear by WinRar but I have tried both and I really like IZArc best. The only difference I could tell was that WinRar handled extremely large files a bit faster. I'm talking over 200MB files. IZArc has no nag screens, no spy or adware. And you can't beat the price.
