Publisher's Description
From Alex Feinman:
ISO Recorder is a tool (power toy) that allows (depending on the Windows version) to burn CD and DVD images (DVD support is only available on Windows Vista), copy disks, make images of the existing data CDs and DVDs and create ISO images from a content of a disk folder. ISO Recorder has been conceived during Windows XP beta program, when Microsoft for the first time started distributing new OS builds as ISO images. Even though the new OS had CD-burning support (by Roxio), it did not have an ability to record an image. ISO Recorder has filled this need and has been one of the poular Windows downloads ever since.

-
"worked perfectly"
Version: ISO Recorder (Windows XP/2003 Server 32-bit) 2
Pros
It does what it's supposed to do
Cons
none that I'm aware of
Summary
worked great on my xp 2002 home edition machine
-
"Terrible, and NOT free"
Version: ISO Recorder (Windows XP/2003 Server 32-bit) 2
Pros
Works OK once or twice
Cons
Ridiculous - they require you to do math equations in order to generate a license key EACH and EVERY TIME you use it!!
Summary
Don't bother - a true waste of time. Should NOT be allowed on CNET
-
"incomplete file"
Version: ISO Recorder (Windows XP/2003 Server 32-bit) 2
Pros
none, the files was incomplete
Cons
I downloaded this file and tried to install it twice and nothing ever happaned. I went directly to the Program Files folder and found only a bunch of folders and no .exe files. Waste of time :(
-
"no documentation, some issues"
Version: ISO Recorder (Windows XP/2003 Server 32-bit) 2
Pros
Hard to criticize since it's free...
Cons
...however, there's not a line of documentation. The program works from the context menu but needs REBOOTING, and that's not obvious since it doesn't prompt you to do that. It is possible that it works only on NTFS file systems.

"Simple as easy!"
Version: ISO Recorder (Windows XP/2003 Server 32-bit) 2
Pros
Works fine for me and is really fast. I've only tested the 'CD to image' feature but it's great since it's free.
-
"Small, swift and easy to use"
Version: ISO Recorder (Windows XP/2003 Server 32-bit) 2
Pros
All from the context menu. No waiting for large programs to start up. Right click and off you go.
Cons
If you have read nothing about it then you might not realise it is context rather than start menu driven. No readme in the install location.
Doesn't remember last location of saved ISO.

"Free, Easy, Simple"
Version: ISO Recorder (Windows XP/2003 Server 32-bit) 2
Pros
it's fast to download, easy to install, and i feels like i don't have to "run" a program to burn an image
Cons
it helps if there are instructions about how to use it on this page so that users don't get confused thinking it's like other 3rd party softwares that you have to run from the start menu
-
"works =]"
Version: ISO Recorder (Windows XP/2003 Server 32-bit) 2
Pros
free
simple
small
easy to use
Cons
no documentation
needs a reboot after install; doesn't prompt you to reboot
several people seem to have an issue where the app reports "operation complete", but the iso file is nowhere to be found. i had this same issue on my first few attempts to use iso recorder. i rebooted & iso recorder started working as normal. if your iso files don't show up, reboot & see if that helps. good luck! =]
