IPMenu is a free utility that conveniently puts both your local and internet IP address into your menu bar. To see your IP addresses, simply click on the icon! IPMenu can also e-mail you when your internet IP address changes.
What's new in this version:
New Feature: E-mail sent when IP changes
Bug fix: IPMenu sometimes would freeze upon first launch, this has been fixed
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. Sometimes I use this app in conjunction with ARD when I have to deal with a spotty location (dynamic IP) for the ARD client computer. It's universal and works flawlessly on both Tiger and Leopard. Simple in the best way possible and just plain works. Could use a few more options here and there like maybe being able to SMS, but then again... it's nice how low of a CPU footprint this thing has now.
Version: IPMenu 1.1
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. Great little app, very happy with it. One feature request, which would make it even better, in my opinion - the ability to copy one or the other of the current IP addresses to the clipboard. Thanks to the developer for a wonderful (and free) utility.
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. I tried it from home (away from the nasty Windows network at work) and it works perfectly! I love this. Nice touch to be able to edit the icon, some people are very picky about things like that (not me of course).
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. I have tried several different combinations of programs to do just exactly what this program does. I can't even tell you how excited I am about this product. There have been several out there that would either tell you what your outside number was, or your local (WAN) address was - but not both. Actually, Ipanema did - but it was a separate app that had to run. This is JUST PERFECT!!! Now all of my clents are just one click away from giving me their addresses when I need it. Thank you !! It is a great product.
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. Several months agos I purchased Shadow IP ($7.50 Shareware). A refined little program with several preferences and features. I like and use it. But, it crashes occasionally (read: annoying!)
IPMenu is wellâ?¦ simple! With a dearth of software that is ever increasing in complexity, this Davis McGavern program does what it was intended to do and elegantly. Kudos to him and thanks for the freeware.
Anyone who transcomputes and/or has multiple location settings and needs access to IP's, this application is virtually perfect.
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. I like this utility and am happy to keep it installed. I'm always traveling with my laptop, so having a handy way to check my IP is great. I like that it takes up no real estate on my desktop, and is neatly hidden away on my menubar until I need to invoke it.
