"Cool site but doesn't have many helpful resources."

    December 8, 2013  |   By RandomRevieweronCNET

    Version: IMVU 490.0

    Pros

    1. There is amazing graphics.
    2. It is very diverse.
    3. There are many people on IMVU.
    4. You can chat with ANYONE.
    5. there are many "creators" on IMVU that produce the most intriguing products for your avatar (located in the "shop" tab)
    6. There's a IMVU website, where you can find help, offers, and surveys.
    7. The game is supposedly "virus-proof" and "tested".

    Cons

    1. There are many people on IMVU that are not always the best of people.
    2. There has been hackers on IMVU.
    3. The site was originally made just for adults, 18+ but now children are allowed with parent's permission...
    4. There are purchases that you may have to make if you want an item.
    5. The site may not support your computer, (I would suggest you look into the catche of your downloads if you do not want a virus)

    Summary

There are not many cons about IMVU you can think of, but overall this game/site is a very neatly organized game which is available on many apps and computers.

    "Don't download"

    April 25, 2013  |   By Magicrose15

    Version: IMVU 472.0

    Pros

    There were no pros

    Cons

I just put back 486.8, which is not great, but this one would not even let me on, just kept crashing. I did try to re-install and the same thing happened. I am diligent about my maintenance so it was not that. I have a 4gb, 64 bit win7 lappy.

    "IMVU is a virtual Sodom"

    February 21, 2012  |   By HisCandyApple

    Version: IMVU 464.2

    Pros

IMVU has the potential to become a truly awesome, international social networking virtual community. It allows for more individuality and customization than any of its competitors and allows for guests to make free accounts and visit as often as they wish for free.

    Cons

IMVU allows children 13+ to access and play in their network, alongside adults who are there for illicit sexual content and fetish, even abusive themes such as BDSM slavery and bestiality, referred to as 'yiffing' in the slang.

    Summary

IMVU needs to SERIOUSLY redesign its community plan and to implement MUCH more strict rules regarding the content they allow, as well as to actively enforce their own stated policies that are frequently and openly violated. IMVU advertises fun games for children but offers them no safety from the many sexual predators that it also harbors and caters too with illicit content.

    Version: IMVU 464.2

    Pros

    the graphics are incredible

    Cons

updates are a pain, sometimes depending on your area, imvu will crash on you. especially due to weather.

    Summary

overall it is none the less an online game where you can spend, and buy things for your character, plus you can earn credits to spend, or you can buy credits. so far I have enjoyed the online experience with all my frieds from yahoo and facebook friends.

    "Dreadful and dangerous"

    August 4, 2011  |   By imvunotsafe

    Version: IMVU 464.2

    Pros

Not much, nice concept, but simply too dangerous for kids.

    Cons

Dreadful, too much sexual content, complain too much and you're banned, instead of them, no safe guards, offers a con, porn which puts kids live in danger, anyone can join, no proper email needed.

    Summary

Imvu is not good, you can often get easily banned, what they called disabled, many have complained of being on there some years, having spent thousands of dollars and suddenly one day they can not access their account.
Another worrying thing is the amount of accounts that get hacked, so a lot of them claim on the forums. If you complain to much you get banned and later disabled.

"Severe management and safety issues with the service"

    November 4, 2010  |   By GuestAccount2

    Version: IMVU 445.12

    Pros

3D avatars are interesting in chats

    Cons

Severe safety issues, and not just for minors. Account theft and spamming are out of control. Horrible management of the service.

    Summary

As a long time user of imvu I feel I need to point out a management flaw in the way the service is run. Instead of fixing long standing existing bugs in the client, they continue to add new features, many that the users scream they do not want. Until imvu gets their act together, it is not a wise investment of anyone's money. If someone needs to try it out, do not waste any money upgrading to an AP account, the experience is the same. Safety appears to be a secondary concern to imvu also. They have a report for abuse system for the users, but all they ever do is give copy and paste responses to support requests that they obviously have not read. Every time you file a ticket to report abuse and you state all of the steps you have already taken to stop it, they will send you a copy and paste message back telling you to do what you have already stated you have done. They have inadequate age confirmation systems in place, so that children can get access to the more adult portion of the site, and predators can and do easily pose as minors.
