"Worth a trial to write a browser for your project"

by zahrobsk on February 8, 2009

Pros: You could write a browser (encapsulating IE without menus) in seven lines of code. Commands wrapped WFC (Foundation Class) methods. Compiler produces small and fast exe's and dll's. Imports external dynamic link library signatures well.

Cons: There wasn't a workable resource manager. Debugging was not it's strong suit, but well worth the extra effort.

Summary: When compared to less worthy technologies with greater longevity (Perl and Crystal Reports come to mind) the demise of this language seems unfair. Probably more stigmatized by the word BASIC in it's name, this language was robust enough to deliver real functionality in a few lines of code.
