Any way you shuffle it, it's still a deck of cards. Though this solitaire program offers an impressive collection of games, it's no trump card in this competive market. Hoyle Solitaire is geared for more seasoned card players, as there are no "hints" for rookie card sharks to get through some of the more challenging games. You can undo moves, however, as well as pause games to pick up later. The graphics are crisp, and the card styles are slick, with an impressive choice of desk designs and images. We would have liked the cards to display a bit larger, however, and for avid card fans, the 20-minute trial period may seem a bit stingy. Overall, Hoyle Solitaire is a decent card program, but if it had more tricks (or cards) up its sleeve, we'd be more eager to play.Publisher's description

Pros: The games are ok but the music is boring and I don't see what the purpose of buying a lot of those widgets are for.
Cons: At least twice a day, the Hoyle site crashes and the game turns off. Right in the middle of a game always!!!!
Summary: I'm really looking forward to Hoyle 2010 because they have apparently patched the issues that I have with constant crashing. Incidentally, I am using Vista Home Premium with a 350G hard drive and 6 G of RAM memory so I shouldn't be having any proble... read more >>
