"Hotspot shield free works, upgrading to Elite is better"
Version: Hotspot Shield 3.37
I have been using this VPN for a long time, and after realising how good the free version was I decided to upgrade to Elite. For a very low price Elite will cover up to five computers, including Apple, and Android devices, allowing you to flip your global footprint to any one of five countries. By doing this you can watch movies not allowed where you are, access site blocked or banned in your country, as well as having protection from some of the less friendly hack that are on the web
I had a few problems when I first started using Hotspot when it was first available, but the quick and well informed staff at hsselite / Anchorfree were more than helpful. they even ironed out problem caused by the Firefox browser, something that does not happen now that Firefox recognizes it
If you want a VPN that works on all devices, and takes very little knowledge to use, and most important works, I recommend Hotspot Shield. No I do not work for the company, but I do enjoy using software you can fire up and ignore. If YOU cannot make it work, ask for help. The current version 3.37 does have a problem for me. Maybe others too. Logging into their servers is erratic, and most of the time will not lock.

If you are a Netflix user. Netflix seems to have adopted a system the same as the National lottery in the UK. At least I am assuming this is the case. They either have a list of all the UK IPs, and when a proxy appears it's not accepted, or they are logging Shields IPs and blocking them. I have been reliably informed this is being looked into. I have reverted back to the previous version and have no problems with logging in on all three of my computers; just that when watching a series on Netflix I get the Ooops! not in you area, or cannot stream this episode. It means having to close and re-open Firefox, but it works then. The jury is still out for me, to whether the logging in problem caused with the latest version, is, or is not, down to Firefox, who has had a problem with Hotspot for a long time. I think it's a proxy thing.
"DOES NOT WORK!"
Version: Hotspot Shield 3.37
software worked for a short time
I assume it worked correctly
Software continued to crash after a few month
could not get it to work on any computer
company only provides refunds within thirty days
automatically signs purchaser up for monthly/yearly renewal
This produce and the company that supports it is terrible. The software did not work after a few months and I have been in an email battle with customer service for at least four weeks. I would not recommend anyone purchase this product, and do not expect the free version to work well either. After a year of using hotspot shield I realized that I had been automatically renewed for another year without my consent. I have tried to install this software on multiple computers and they all work for a few months and then the software just gives an error message.
