Pros

Fast, accessible, and focused: Compared to Facebook or dating sites, Hot or Not is quicker and more to the point: you get recommendations based on your location, age, and interests, and press the Heart (Hot) or X (Not) buttons to rate potential friends and dates based on their looks, while others can do the same to you. When you find someone interesting, you can check his or her profile and connect with them to start chatting.

Engaging and intuitive UI: Images take up the whole screen, and you can easily flip through them to view different users. Recommended users are displayed as an attractive mosaic, enabling you to quickly find the person you're searching for.

Updates location in real time: Recommendations are based on your current location, rather than a predefined one, so you can find people near you even when traveling or attending an event.

Cons

Somewhat annoying verification process: While the Facebook/Google+ sign-up is fast enough, and the filling of your profile details takes only a few minutes, the pictures of other users are blurred or unavailable unless you upload three pictures of yourself. Uploading images from Facebook, Instagram, or your own files turns out to be easy enough, but some of your images may not be approved for no good reason.

Irrelevant recommendations: In our case, many recommendations came from regions or even countries that were miles away from our location.
