"Nice game but limited options in the demo"
Version: Homeworld 2 1.0
Summary
It is a fun game to play although the options in this demo are limited. The biggest downside is that you get a "seen this before" feeling if you have some experience with strategy games. If you are thinking about buying this game, this demo will you give a good idea what the game is liked.

"Dissappointing for Cataclysm players, but with some merit"
Version: Homeworld 2 1.0
Summary
Addresses shortcomings of previous releases of HW and Cataclysm. Unfortunately a step backward in the interface which was developed in Cataclysm and was superior to Homeworld. Improvements include IP games (no more WON!), management of teams and starting locations, more sophisticated research options, transfer of ownerships of ships to allies, faster moving ms/cs, more sophisticated attack options, i.e. target subsystems reather than just a ship. Biggest downside of interface is a general akwardness to work with compared to cataclysm, and a problem with the perspectives used. i.e. no matter what you do you are either too far away or too close, but never at a right perspective to have a good overall glimpse of the battlefield and at the same time be able to enjoy the incredibe graphics that are taking place and viewable if zoomed in enough.
So, all in all, homeworld players will delight in it, cataclysm players will enjoy some aspects of it but it will be a hate love relationship..it's not a no brainer that I would quit playing cataclysm in order to play hw2. -
