No one wants to think about floods, fires, or theft, but these terrible things can and do happen. Having an up-to-date home inventory can make thousands of dollars' worth of difference when it comes to filing insurance claims after a disaster. Home Inventory Spreadsheet is a basic Excel spreadsheet that can help you make a list of your most important possessions and their worth. Although this isn't really anything you couldn't do on your own with Excel, the spreadsheet has a nice layout that makes it easy to get started.
The spreadsheet organizes your possessions by room, breaking down the huge task of creating an inventory into more manageable steps. For each item there are columns in which to list a description, purchase information, condition and estimated value, the model and serial number, and any notes. There's also a field where you can enter the file name of a photo of each item; keeping a photo inventory along with the spreadsheet will make the claims process easier. There's a space for your contact information and that of your insurance agent, and that's pretty much it. Home Inventory Spreadsheet really is just a spreadsheet, and it doesn't have a Help file or very much in the way of features. But that's what we like about it; the fact that it's just a spreadsheet makes it relatively small, highly portable, and easy to use.
We think this is a great choice for anyone who wants to create a home inventory but is wary of large software packages designed specifically for this purpose.

Looking at the screenshot I thought this was a spreadsheet application with specialized features for home inventory. (Actually its just a Microsoft Excel file).
Not even worth pressing the download button
It could help when typing up inventory but I'd rather use a more specialized program than Microsoft Excel. There are now quicker and easier ways to do home inventory.

by just typing in 'home inventory' in the search i found really nice and FREE programs for keeping track of my furniture etc. I thank whoever took their time to type this up but frankly it now serves no practical purpose. -

no cons i found. just have to many on my laptop. found this was conflicting with live photos i use in art. even though have vrooom
Summary
this is great program, downloaded twice. i do large scale art. my sensors went off so had to move much or cut off in panel. there was more than this one which went ding. nothing at all wrong with this fantastic program. i have win 7 beta 64 bit with 9 beta. i hook up extra externals, monitor so can go x86, not often do yet some require. there was no way or i could not find more so me think. a way to suspend while using art programs. have many. create websites, i so love the features on this program. i will download again. as say need more external for all greats here. hate dumping them. i use two iOmega or ego. max out. clear. flash external and internal. try this if you dont use as i do for so very clear concise precise. buttons big for people like i with vision. not giving up my art....lol
