"Inconsistencies about what is and what is not HitmanPro"
Version: Hitman Pro 3 (32-bit) 3.5.9.131
Pros
Very important: It offers the possibility of a second antivirus in my computer.
Cons
You can't really test it during the trial (or test) 30 day period, because it scans but wont remove threats.
Summary
As I don't know much about computers, when I'm interested in downloading a program I investigate a lot about it: company that produces it and its reputation, user and expert reviews in well known web sites or online magazines, etc., and about Hitman Pro I found some inconsistencies. For example: according to Wikipedia it uses 4 renowned antivirus engines to detect malicious software (some professional reviewers and Hitman Pro say they're 5). At SoftRight web site (its producers) this seems to be Hitman Pro's main attractive and their pride, so why they don't say which ones? Probably what Wikipedia says about those brands got something to do with it: it says "The program has also opponents that claim that Hitman Pro is using other people's knowledge without their permission. Software producer Lavasoft was in discussion with Mr. Loman over changes to the program before granting any official permission to implement their software and McAfee says they did not grant permission and claim no knowledge at all of the program with no further comment. This is in apparent contrast to the previous statements of Mr. Loman who claimed he had the agreement of all companies". And in a well known software download web site it says "Unlike in the previous versions of Hitman Pro, the latest one doesn't install third-party anti-spyware and anti-adware on your computer. Hitman Pro detects all the files with suspicious behavior and sends them to the scan cloud using the Internet connection. There, the program removes any detected malicious files, thus not crowding up your computer with a large number of programs that could affect its performance".
And there's a new program that seems to be a Hitman Pro "clone": Zemana Anti-malware, who's screenshot says "Powered by Hitman Pro" and, according to an "Advanced Member" in a (well known forum) discussion, "Do you know Zemana AntiMalware and Hitman Pro uses the same license file? So you can use HMP with a Zemana AntiMalware license or vice-versa or in fact use both". Hitman Pro rebranded? And if so why? ...Or what for?
Now check user reviews on Hitman Pro in different web sites and you will find some that sound "too advertising or sales man" to be real user reviews. And you can start right here, at Cnet.
If you investigate a little, you'll find that Zemana AntiLogger is a well reputed program, and I don't believe that its producers would put at risk their only brand, so if they're offering a kind of clone of Hitman Pro with their own name, it must be because their version is good for sure. (note that I'm not saying that Hitman Pro, the original version, is not good; I'm just saying that Zemana Anti-malware is trustworthy).
I haven't used Hitman Pro so according only to my investigations I probably would give 4 stars to Hitman Pro, but due to all those inconsistencies I give it only two but can't recommend it. I will try Zemana Anti-malware in one computer and Hitman Pro in another for some time and be back here to let you know my comments. I hope to find that both of them are good. I think it's important to share information about Hitman Pro/Zemana Anti-malware between users, because "they're one" of the only three known "second antivirus" that exist (the other ones are Prevx and ThreatFire) ...Or is there another one? -
"I N C R E D I B L E !"
Version: Hitman Pro 3 (32-bit) 3.5.9.131
Pros
Worked when nothing else did! I tried MS Essential, Malwarebye, MS Fix-it, Kaspersky, MS Malicious Tool Removal and all removed some of the nasty Trojan, but none removed all except HitmanPro. It even fixed the registry errors caused by the malware. Incredible find!
Cons
Nobody seems to know about it!
Summary
Extremely efficient. Extremely quick (15mins?). Unbeatable product!

"Was bad for my computer"
Version: Hitman Pro 3 (32-bit) 3.5.9.131
Pros
None that I can think of.
Cons
After installing Hitman pro my computer slowed down considerably. Opening programs was strange they opened on an angle and very slowly like in slow motion, closing them was the same. I suspected Hitman pro was a virus and uninstalled it but this did not work. I has to search regedit and mycomputer to find all the evidence of Hitman pro that was not unistalled and continued to run on my computer. I deleted this and my computer returned to normal immediately. After this experience I believe Hitman pro to be a virus and would not recommend it to anyone.

"GREAT Program!! Should be called Heroman Pro!!"
Version: Hitman Pro 3 (32-bit) 3.5.9.131
Pros
Worked when nothing else would!
It shuts down everything while it works, then gives a detailed list of the malware problems, the information about each problem from three other sites, the estimated level of danger of each, and best of all, the solution for each. Then you can just check what you want done with each, ie remove, quarantine, ignore, and then click do it. And it does! It even even replaced a needed registry key when it was infected, "key needed for system stability". Then you restart and immediately run other antimaleware programs, I used antimalwarebytes and superantispyware. It gave great clear and detailed instructions on every step. My college daughter's computer had 37 ! problems;only two minor, tracking cookies, the rest serious. (*see summary for more details) Also the browsers were taken over and sent you the wrong site after the initial correct one loaded, finally figured out https, sites with the s did work and that's how I downloaded and ran hitman, my heroman:)Cons
The name:)
Only one sort of con is you need the internet to be working to download and run it easily.
But you could probably run it from a flash drive, just do a fresh download first.Summary
HITMAN = HEROMAN
Best program ever, free for a month but I want to buy it. This is my first review so may be too long but this Hitman really really impressed me!
My daughters computer had just been "repaired" by her college IT dept a month before for $95 :( They wouldn't even look at it without more money so she brought it home to mom,me again. The same kind of thing happened in the spring ($80!)and after a lot of work ( it would turn on and then the screen turned black) then I discovered they had not turned on any security programs. I don't know if they are inept or just want kids to pay more. This time it was such a mess I don't know what they did and didn't do.
*Parts of EVERY antimalware program had been removed and rendered useless but looked like they were still there. Even MSE was there but blocked and said needed administrator permission to open, ha, it even used fake MS warnings when I went to uninstall it. Very devious and clever. -
