even when AdAware, SpyBot and other malware, thiefware etc removal products don't detect them, HijackThis can show you evidence of invasive browser attachments and IE search-engine default changes. (plus Windows Run and Service entries)
Good idea to use this product on a new computer before connecting to the Internet but after all legit. software is installed and make a note of the entries so you can compare them to the entries after a suspected invasion has occurred. -

How can anybody write something negative about for such a nice & free product? The guy called PC helper wrote a negative here as he does to all other free spyware tools.LOL.(adaware-spybot etc)
He recommends us to go to SpywareFinder.net & pay?? LOL..
He works for that company!!
Dont hesitate & download this wonderful product folks.This tool removes the ones that adaware,spybot & spysweeper cant remove!! -

HijackThis is like a reporter who only knows how to tell the truth, to his or her best ability. In this case, the job is done very well, BUT... you will have to do some work of your own to utilise the information. Google is a good place to start for a search on any unrecognized lines.

A great man once said "Speak softly but carry a big stick".
This is the app they were talking about.
It's deceptively basic in start up and appearance, and it DOES seem to do it's job. However, the devil is in the details. This program DOES pick out some bad ("Mal ware") things that are running, but in fact DO belong there. IF you select to have them "fixed", it WILL actually do some pretty serious damage to your system. Albeit these are things that CAN be repaired/remedied.
BE ADVISED!!! DO A "Restore Point" prior to even THINKIG starting or even downloading this app. However, having said that. 1)It DID do the job where 4 or 5 other major spy ware apps didn't/couldn't. 2) They DO give you an opt out option in their "Info" button, which describes in detail what you want to select, and shows a great deal of "tech savvy support". They tell you in VERY plain English those certain apps (and they call them by the specific name, i.e. MSXL...), MAY be beneficial, and are legitimate, and they advise you to basically leave it along and not to attempt to "fix" that “Malware”.
This application is not for the faint at heart. After having ran Ad-ware, Spybot-Search and Destroy, PestPastrol, Spy Sweeper AND the AOL Security adware blocking program, I was at my wits end. And I would have just as soon re-formatted my hard drive as try again, and still come up “infected”. THIS application saved my computer and saved me from having to do that. As far as I can tell, it’s completely cleaned up and done away with the malware that was causing me SO many sleepless nights, and hours of frustration, in just a matter of minutes.
