Version: HandBrake 0.9.1
"It works, but only for a week."
Pros: Easy to use, many different options, works quite well.
Cons: There's a 7-day limitation, and no way to renew or purchase the software once the time limit is expired.

Version: HandBrake 0.9.1
"Great but be careful with Vista"
Pros: It is designed for Vista, but lots of things do not work for me in Vista unless I change settings somewhere. I set my "presets" to "Normal". It works great on a MacBook. I keep my PC around for my wife.
Cons: If you are using Windows Vista, you have to go to the Compatibility tab under properties, set the compatibility to run in Windows XP SP 2, and also select Run as Administrator (at the bottom of the Compatibility tab.)
Summary: Handbrake is a fantastic program especially after you experiment for a while. The problem, if you use Windows Vista, which is a sorry program, settings have to be changed. I have used it on over 20 movies and put my DVD originals in a safe place. It ... read more

Pros: Copies home DvDs
Cons: Can't do a back up of the movies you buy
