"I would not recommend it."
Version: HJ-Split 2.4
Pros
Normally works okay.
Cons
- File splitting fails occasionally, just before 100% completion.
- The user interface is silly. Did a pre-schooler design it?
- No way to cancel mid-way through, or determine reasons for errors.Summary
Normally, the app works fine. I have had issues occasionally though, both on XP and 7, while splitting larger files (6 to 10 GB, usually). There is no indication of what the error is, whether the program is even doing anything, or any way to cancel. I am forced to use Task Manager to exit and re-do the whole thing. I just don't really trust this app to work each time, so I'll probably go with another file splitter.

"Undependable."
Version: HJ-Split 2.4
Pros
It splits and joins files, pure and simple.
Cons
Check for bad bits in the split files when you join? Good luck! The program has a checksum feature, but hardly anybody ever use it. Most people don't ever bother knowing what it's for! Too bad because it's important.
Summary
The program works if the servers you upload to is 120% reliable. If you have a somewhat problematic internet line, even the slightest mistake will render the resulting files unreadable. WinRAR is your best option, as it will scan for corruption and informs you which split files are damaged. Just try it a few times, and you will see that it's in fact easier to use than HJSplit. How important is your data? If it's mission critical, don't rely on HJSplit. Unless you want to find out the hard way.
