If a computer has a microphone input, musicians can play their instruments into the machine itself, and the software will analyze the note. It includes a few advanced display features such as a frequency spectrum analyzer. If the computer lacks a microphone, the software will simply play notes at the pitches desired, helping the guitar player tune by ear. The program is Java-based, so it can be used on most modern operating systems. Its interface is smart and intuitive, with a handful of eye-catching graphics that don't overload the program with menus or unnecessary options. We would have liked to see a few alternate temperaments or tunings available, but on the whole, this flexible tool will fit the needs of the vast majority of guitar players.
