"I bought this when it was 2.6.. 3 is so much better!"

Pros
they upgraded me free from 2.6 to 2.8 and now 3. with each update the program has gotten better, has less latency. I'm running it on a 1.4 single core Fujitsu Lifebook T3010D laptop with 1.256 gigs of Ram (1 stick of 1 gig ram I added to 1 stick of 256 MB ram). I bought off e-bay for $80.00. runs good on that even with backing tracks running at the same time with "Coreplayer".
Cons
I think they added to much "Eye Candy" when they made the cabinets. they look cool but are un-needed (and don't play well on my underpowered machine). I don't use that function. I keep it pretty basic and it runs fine and sounds great.
Summary
I have tried all the effects software I could find. FXBox has the lowest latency and best sound of them all plus its cheaper.
(Latency = the time from when you pick a string or play a chord and the time you actually hear it through the software) some of these effects software really want a high end sound card to run. FXBox is good with a pretty basic sound card. -

Cheap. Many adjustable effects. Has inbuilt meternome, has inbuilt tuner. Can record lead guitar, bass and voice. Great sound.
Cons
Needs a 2ghz computer, those dont come cheap.
