"Beware! Hammer/banning protection doesn't work"
Pros: I will agree with almost all of the positive reviews for this product. It's easy, and free! BUT...(see my cons)
Cons: The autoban/hammering features don't work! I have used this over several years wan would like to continue too, but when I get hammered by 100,000 attempts in a day to guess the login, the system keeps that log in RAM, RAM fills up and the whole computer slows to a near stop until you delete/rename that log file. I have contacted the developers with details and log copies, but while they admit that it is a failure, they otherwise blew me off and locked the discussion group topic. Email directly to "Nitro" goes unanswered. It could be a good product, but if someone guesses your password, you could be hosed big time. And even if they don't guess it, your server/PC comes to a screaching crawl. Too bad they won't take it seriously after months of trying to discuss it with them.

Version: GuildFTPd 0.9.1
"Easy to set up, with all the features you want"
Pros: Its got user and user-group management, with dozens of options for each. Its got plug-ins. Its got security. Its got a step-by-step guide to setting up a simple FTP server. Perfect for the home user wanting to share some files across the network or internet.
Cons: Occassionally, it doesn't recognise the admin user's priviledges. The log file appears to be kept in memory - too many in one day, and you'll grind to a halt. Occassionally, FTP GUI clients don't understand it, and you have to revert to command-line. Not for the corporate user.

"[V0.999.14]A free FTPD with enough functionality."
Pros: It's free, and it offers full funtionalities like group/user management which is included only in the retail/pro version of other similar products.
Cons: The GUI can be furhter improved.
Ex: The log can be displayed together rather than tagged view.
Since it's still in alpha, some functions may not operated as predicted. Hope 1.0 beta could be better :)
