"Buy it if you need frustration!"
Version: Grindr Xtra 1.6
Pros
of course the idea of the application is brilliant: meeting buddies around you, design is nice
Cons
serious technical problems, updates do not help at all, it is now already version 1.7.5 - still doesn't work properly, messages get lost: you get a push up notification with a text preview, but when you go on-line you do not find the message any more! frustrating!
Also pictures moderators - I don't get them! It is an application for gay men! What haven't we seen? Why such strict policy? At the same time moderators approve the most stupid pictures for profiles such as pictures of furniture, landscapes, fruits, dogs, puppets and muppets etc! I should say only pictures with clear faces should be allowed. What is the point of disapproving nude pictures with clear faces and allowing pictures of stupid stuff?Summary
in summary - waste of money at the moment,
unless Grindr doesn't come up with the good technical solution for the constan crushes
If you need frustration in your life - buy it! Will keep you busy! -
"Works awesome for me"
Version: Grindr Xtra 1.6
Pros
Tons of guys in LA. Interface is clean, simple and intuitive. Everything works.
Cons
It's for guys only. Sometimes you wanna meet a girl too... or is it just me?
Summary
I recommend this to all my friends and interneties. I haven't experienced any of the technical issues described by the otehr reviewers on my iPhone 4.

"Technical Nightmare!"
Version: Grindr Xtra 1.6
Pros
meeting guys close to you when youre looking for fun.... but is it achievable with Grindr?
Cons
Technical Nightmare with Iphone and with Android... Tried different smart phone (from regular to high end ones), different countries and continents...
Constantly crashing, messages meshing up together making it a bit confusing, messages sent come the next day and delivered as "new", no reply from the tech assistance from Grindr or just sending you copy-paste text with no real help. Technically worse as weeks go by (perhaps with more users?)Summary
Not worth the hassle. If youre looking for fun now and having a system that crashes always afeter your 4th click, I guess it can get you frustrated. 20$ down the drain and will not renew again. Other options on the market that apparently work a lot better

"no real options, crashing"
Version: Grindr Xtra 1.5.3
Pros
good layout, should serve the immediate needs of users
Cons
crashing, access problems, settings unsaved, no search options or filters
Summary
I wonder what's the benefit of paying Grindr since there is no benefit what-so-ever.
Using Sony Xperia Arc android...
Grindr is quite useless. No filters so you cant control and seek to see profiles that are closer to you liking whether its age or ethnicity etc..., the profiles ARE NOT set from closest to me to farthest so its kind of a mess.
Grindr limits the profile views so you can't access more guys who are a bit further to you (you've reached your buddy limit?!!!), so you need to erase the guys you are not going to talk to in order to see new ones but the blocked profiles pop back the next time! what the hell...?!
Keeps on crashing and has to reinstall 4x in 2 weeks which nullifies any settings that I might have had. popping advertisements every couple of minutes doesn't hep as well.
The latest glitch is "cant access Grindr, try again later"
so guys.. the idea is sooooo cool but I would have preferred a less glitchy system and actually some more benefits from having a paid one. After the expiration of mine I WILL NOT RENEW... I tried Boy Ahoj and its a far better one with no limitation.
Your current system truly sucks and not in the good way ...
