Publisher's description of GraphingCalc
From Sequoia Software:GraphingCalc draws 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional graphs from algebraic equations to give students a better understanding of math. Graphs can be rotated, sized, moved, zoomed, and colored with the mouse. Up to 3 graphs can be drawn at the same time, which is useful when studying intersections, asymptotes, derivatives, and differences between similar equations. Graphs can be animated with a time variable, T. Graphing with polar coordinates in two dimensions and special functions for Fourier Transform analysis are also supported. Version 2.1 may include special functions for Fourier Transform analysis. These are very advanced functions and include step, sgn, rect, ramp, tri, sinc, and gaus.

- Version reviewed: GraphingCalc 2.1
The program interface, while not aesthetically pleasing, is functional and straightforward. 3D images can be rotated with just a mouse click, at any speed, and in any direction. If you hold down the right-click button and move the cursor up or down, you can zoom in or out on any graphic. Color and other display settings can all be customized from the main program menu. For graph specifics, you can click check boxes to hide or show individual panels of a graph in further detail.
The main drawback of the GraphingCalc demo is you can't enter your own equations. The program comes with a set group of equations for viewing. Yet, there's no time limit to using the demo version, so it's easy to get a good sense of the program's capabilities before taking the plunge. Overall, this appears to be a useful program for students struggling with algebra or for those who simply want to get away from grid paper and pencil.

Version: GraphingCalc 2.1
Pros: The graphs look really good. Graphingcalc has the best 3D graphs because they are accurate, detailed, and easy to rotate. The 2D graphs look very good too, even though other programs also have good looking 2D graphs. While other programs have 2D graphs that look just as good, Graphingcalc is better because of the ease of zooming, moving, and animating. Graphingcalc is surprisingly very low priced. I like how grapingcalc lets me make 3 graphs on the same grid at the same time.
Cons: I agree with calguy19 that copy and paste would be nice, but I find that to be a very minor drawback. Printing would be a nice feature to add too. But the graphs look great on my computer and I've never had to restart, so I don't know what calguy19 is talking about.

Version: GraphingCalc 2.1
Pros: At least it's cheap.
Cons: Doesn't work right. On my 2nd computer its display doesn't work - graphs are shaded dark black and virtually invisible. Same problem on 3rd computer (laptop). Only works on 1 computer. Also no copy/paste - inconvenient. Can't print graphs. Also graph goes blank sometimes while editing the formula and have to restart.
email to their support so far unanswered.
