Pros
The download was quick. The DMG image opened without a hitch and the simple "drag to Applications" is about as simple as it gets.
The browser is excellent and easy to use.

I like its ability to open almost any type of graphic document and then be able to convert it to a more universally recognized format like a jpeg.

The publisher should first set his own house in order before posting the software anywhere. My first horrible experience.

"If you have a Mac of any description GraphicConverter is the first App to Get!"

Often described as, "The poor man's Photoshop" GraphicConverter is a better application than that description would lead you to think. The huge list of formats it deals with are more than anyone could want. Anyone with an Apple/Mac anything should prioritize this as a "first application to download". I can't imagine not having it and that goes back many years.
Cons
Possibly there's some learning to do if you want to get the absolutely full functionality of GraphicConverter but it's something its developer will be glad to direct you with. I know I'm still not making use of all its functions but it's sure not a likely thing that I'll ever need all of those!

No Mac OS app has yet to deliver the multiplicity of functions that GraphicConverter offers at such an unbelievably minimal price and I'm still stumbling onto the functions functions it provides. It hasn't been beaten or surpassed by any Mac OS app and the price seems unreal in an industry where so little costs so much. It might not be precise to call it "the poor man's Photoshop" but it comes scarily close! With every new Mac I've had in the last 16 years I've made sure to download GraphicConverter as a first-priority application. I can't imagine anyone finding fault with it, least of all with its stability -- it's the last to freeze or crash and I can't remember it ever doing so.

Learning what all the graphic formats are - way more than I realized, most of which I don't care about (except that once in a while)

I use it ALL the time in both OS 9.2.2 and OS X.3.8 Everything from my scanners gets to go through a conversion using this program

None that I can think of. Wish there was a similar program to covert .wmv .mpg and the rest.

Pros
It has loads of features, many not found in the other graphics programs - rather like having an extra graphics toolbox. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it can in fact (or used to) support photoshop filters since these are just plugins to which Graphic converter provides the same interface. It'll read and convert *any* format as suggested by the name as well, in batch mode if you want it to. I think Adobe has copied some of this programs features into photoshop such as image directory browsing.
Cons
Maybe not quite the prettiest interface in the world.
