"Total Rip-off!"
Version: Graboid Video 1.4
Pros
No Pros since you are charged per dowload & if the file is not what you wanted you paid for nothing.
Cons
Graboid does not host or post any of the content so they are unable to guarantee the quality for any files. Total Rip-off if you purchase.
Summary
Do not pay them for anything. My free trial & 3 episodes of Dexter were exatly the same 2,5,8 wasted my free downloads. Only when I uninstaled their software 3 weeks later did they responed to my email telling me "We do not host or post any of the content so we are unable to guarantee the quality for any files." Total Ripoff if you purchase.

"Probably illegal if it uses its own servers"
Version: Graboid Video 1.4
Pros
Contrary to popular belief, in the U.S., at least, unauthorized downloading of copyrighted material is not illegal. Only serving or uploading is illegal because it infringes on the copyright owner's exclusive right of distribution. Laws in other countries may be different. The Pirate Bay was busted in Sweden even though it did not serve any files.
Cons
I don't believe Graboid's statement "Please note that Graboid does not host any files other than commentary from users of our software." To deliver streaming movies it must use one or more streaming servers, either its own or someone else's. Graboid claims to get its materials from the Usenet. Usenet servers deliver files but cannot stream files as large as a movie. These require extensive processing in order to become viewable. Movies on the Usenet binary newsgroups are posted as a collection of from 10 to 50 .rar files which must be downloaded in their entirety and decoded with Winrar before they become video files (.AVI, MP4, DVD or whatever. Only then can they be streamed.
Summary
If Graboid licensed its content the way Netflix does, it wouldn't have to get it from the Usenet, from which anyone can download posted files with only a Usenet client and a $10 per month subscription to a Usenet server. Conclusion: Graboid is probably delivering unlicensed content. There are "free movie" sites that merely provide links to other people's servers but these servers come and go, and if Graboid is as reliable as most users claim, I suspect that it is operating its own servers.
I consider it likely that Graboid eventually will be busted, but subscribers are risking nothing more than the price of their subscription. -
"very illegal"

"A great, inexpensive way to watch movies on the go."
Version: Graboid Video 1.4
Pros
Excellent Quality, Fast speeds of 400-600 KBS, All files are in Divx format and can be burned to dvd for viewing on a dvd player (that supports AVI), HD content!, A large selection of rare and OOP videos + adult content
Cons
The streaming is hit-and-miss, Poor subscription plans, horrible internal player
Summary
I just completed my free trial and I was mostly impressed. The quality was much better than I expected and the download speeds were very fast (400-600 kbs). The instant streaming does not work very well. About 1 out of every 5 times the streaming didnt work. It got to the point where I just forgot all about it and just waited the 30-50 mins for the file to completely download, not really a big deal. Hopefully they will fix this in later versions. The internal player is awful and lacking in options, but thankfully you are not restricted to using it. You can even burn the files to a dvd and play them on a Divx player or on Windows Media. Subscriptions are a little bit ridiculous- either you buy 10gb of transfer capacity for 5$ a month or 50 gbs for 15$ which is totally unnecessary for me. They definitely need something that is in-between those two options. I have also heard that there are viruses on some of the files you may download, although graboid itself does not contain any malware. I have not experienced any of this, but Im assuming some of the less legal downloads are prone to this. If you stick to downloading movies that have already been released on DVD than Im sure you wont have to deal with this.

"Easy to use, good ROI"
Version: Graboid Video 1.4
Pros
Easy to search, no viruses, low cost and you can test the program for free. Shows are up to date, great selection and the stream or DL option is great.
Cons
Lots of "cams" in the movies section, sometimes I have to sift through a few to find a good copy.
Summary
Still a big fan, quick to DL a show/movie, so many up to date options and of course easy online payment. Not sure how others paid but to the person that mentioned they cancelled the subscription but it renewed simply report it to paypal or your CC company - I had no issue stopping payment when I decided to put my account on 'hold' for a couple months while away on vacation but it might be an issue with your payment type as well.
Two thumbs up here! -

"Real Good, EXCEPT unexplained white screen problems"
Version: Graboid Video 1.4
Pros
I'm still wondering if it's completely legal. You can get current tv shows from anywhere including premium cable channels like HBO. Great quality. These are in the dvix format and can be burnt to DVD
Cons
Unexplained errors like trying to open and only getting White screen. Doesn't have a gb teir between 10gb ($4.99) and 50 gb ($14.99) A 25 gb would be really good. I'm on dsl so would never even get close to 50 gb.
Summary
An excellent program for premium content, but not much customer service. If you can't seem to sign on like today (8-16-09), you're on your own. They send no notices of server problems or anything else. But, if and when one can get on, the content if 1st class

"Best of its kind"
Version: Graboid Video 1.4
Pros
Graboid does what it claims, if some reviews posted here are having trouble then they are in the minority, any problems can usually be solved by visiting the Graboid forums where more experienced users will be happy to help out.
Cons
Some users might report having some problems but as I said earlier they can usually be resolved in the forums or if its a problem with their account then by contacting support.
Summary
Bottom line is I really, really like Graboid, you might even say I'm addicted, They are always improving it and adding new features and I have been a very happy member for seven months.
