"Simple, Light & Yet a great IM"

Pros
Well its a small program with great features. You can have conversation via text and voice with good sound quality, transfer files support. Apart from that its very light, ad free & doesn't consume much of my system resource like some other big bannered IM's
Cons
Only few things that I miss in this IM is its not having webcam support, and SMS messaging support. But overall a nice IM with almost all the features. As it is in beta stage I am sure google would definitely come up with versions, fulfilling those missing elements.

It works. It's not bloatware. It doesn't try to jam dozens of features into itself. It does what it is: sends and receives instant messages! I love it.

Great interface and simple interface.
The interface is simple and easy to use.
Coming from Windows Live Messenger, it's an improvement, because the interface of Windows Live Messenger is too much.
In Windows Live Messenger there are too many features ( of which I use only a portion of ).
That's why I removed Windows Live Messenger and switched to Google Talk.
My girlfriend and I are now on Google Talk. We used to be on Windows Live Messenger until monday this week.
Cons
No ability to use a webcam to have a video conversation.
Also no ability to chat with other networks ( Windows Live Messenger, ICQ, Yahoo! and many others ).
I haven't found the plugins yet to make it work.

Doesn't take lots of memory, no performance decrease, intergrated with Gmail
Cons
Really basic, no built in emotions, (u have to make them,) etc... not much features, recommend Windows Live Messenger

Minimalistic. Keeps history with your Gmail account (optional). Free voice mail which is a paid service with Skype and other IMs.

"Great VoIP program"

Pros
This program is very good and works great with my Gmail account. I use it daily. VoIP quality is exceptional when I talk to my aunt in Florida and I am in Pennsylvania.
Cons
Status/Profile creation is very limited. Program may not be up-to-par for the Instant Messenger buff.
