Gives a good view of the locale. Especially handy for hill walkers and ramblers for route planning to take in vistas.
Cons
A big project so some aresa are not covered as well as others, that is up to individuals to participate.

The new inhancements and updates are cool and fun.
Cons
The satellite photos of the earth are old (4 to 5 years) so new construction is not shown. The accuracy of the locations, new buildings, roadways and other transportation ways are not shown. UNFORTUNATELY IT IS A NICE TOY but lacks usefulness. In addition, eastern europe, the balkans are appear almost like a waste land. I really thought Google would have done a better job than this...
