"I love this browser."

Cons

"Finally, global zooming in dev version!"
Version: Google Chrome 8.0.552.215
Pros
Speed, web store, and now global zooming. (Dev. version only)
Cons
Version 8 does not have global zooming, which is an almost imperative feature for someone using a large monitor. Don't know how to tweak this browser like FF, to squeeze all the speed out of it.
Summary
I am currently using 10.0.642.2 dev. So far no bugs for me. The global zooming feature is huge, as I use a 24 in. monitor. When one is allowed to delete the other bookmarks bar, and gain a little bookmarks bar space, Google Chrome will have met all of my expectations.

once in a while a javascript pop-up wont work on chrome but will in firefox.
Summary

"Good fast Browser, but another nosey parker"
Version: Google Chrome 8.0.552.215
Pros
Fast access, smooth and easy to apply themes
Cons
It saved my favorites from my previous install of Chrome a year ago .. I thought it auto imported my favs from IE but I have changed them a few months ago .. searched after uninstalling Chrome and found 4 places cached info
Summary
How is it so fast .. It searches any bookmarks that are not directorized and caches them just in case you open them .. nice way to slow the internet .. It also saves your recent bookmarks and even though you click the clear .. manually every time .. they are somewhere on your system .. waiting. But at least it is not as bad as firefox.

"Overrated and invasive"
Version: Google Chrome 8.0.552.215
Pros
Fast Speed
Cons
Invasive and inconsistent in performance
Summary
As someone who is engaged in online business, I am concerned about privacy online. Google's reputation in this area is dismal.
For starters, while the browser is supposed to allow you to customize the privacy settings for individual websites, it doesn't allow that option if you have to go in through a Google-controlled port. Even if you have the setting to accept cookies from that particular website, if the port is controlled by Google, it will not allow you to enter the website unless you reset the privacy setting to accept all cookies.
It's a POS so I'm sticking w/ Firefox which allows much higher privacy settings. -
"Google Chrome is great - when it doesn't crash!"
Version: Google Chrome 8.0.552.215
Pros
Nice interface; smooth browsing
Cons
It crashes suddenly and often, way too often to recommend. Whatever the cause, Google needs to fix it.
Summary
I would prefer to use Google Chrome over Explorer or Firefox, but it can be "buggy" and crashes nearly every time I use it. I have a brand new PC so it is not my PC that is the problem, but Chrome. I hope Google will fix it because Chrome has the potential to be an outstanding browser.

"This is not even Beta software... barely Alpha."
Version: Google Chrome 8.0.552.215
Pros
Seems fast enough when it works but I didn't really use it long enough to be impressed.
Cons
The install procedure, all three varieties, is a joke: click on setup and there is no dialog till it's done and hasn't even told you where it is installed. Though GC doesn't, GoogleUpdater does pollute the Regiatry so take a Restore Point first.
Summary
I have no time for software which won't let me control where it installs and the standard install in your My Documents folders is no place to be putting software... unless you want to bypass the IT dept's control of user systems, i.e. a desire to infest corporate systems. Yes, the "Pack" install puts it in C:\Program Files but there is no off-line installer for it and I prefer to to use a different drive for applications. To have such little control just shows utter contempt for the user and is a pollution of MY computer by someone who has no respect for me.
The only reason this thing is fast is that it's so stupidly simple with no control of functionality - if any other company tried this they'd be laughed out of business; if they wanted money for it they'd be sued.
If a company wanted to spy and poach info on people's private and corporate Web habits, they'd pick up an Open Source browser "kit", do minor tarting up, and infest the world's computers with it, making sure that IT Manager's couldn't stop it. It may not be malware... yet, but it's close and very well could be in future with their auto-updates.
I'm pleased that I tried Chrome because I feel wiser now and will have nothing more to do with any Google software. I restored form a Restore Point afterwards to get rid of their GoogleUpdater so I'm Google-Free and will stay that way. I'm happy with Seamonkey - they have no sinister agenda. Now if only we had a benign search engine... PLEASE. -
"Used less than a day.Slower than IE, crashes frequently"
Version: Google Chrome 8.0.552.215
Pros
Can't think of a thing
Cons
Crashes with monotonous regularity.
Summary
Don't bother. Firefox is looking to be vastly superior to both IE and Chrome.

"Good for beginners and Facebook-primarily users"
Version: Google Chrome 8.0.552.215
Pros
loads faster, runs FB apps better, doesn't slow down the PC as much during high volume usage by opening smaller background instances, very simple and easy-to-use setup, compact features allow for more viewable page,
Cons
Difficulty loading pages with multiple images, difficulty loading pages when multiple tabs open, cannot use scroll wheel in flash applets, no dedicated bookmark tab, little customization for advance users, no option to save pages when closing browser
Summary
For most users, it will work for all their needs. If you're a tab-happy user, then you may find yourself a little disappointed as tabs don't always load properly in the background. websites hosting multiple images on a single page tend to have issue loading those images and only refreshing the whole page to attempt fixing. Facebook users will especially enjoy it due to its method of handling apps and applets separately from the browser itself. The hardest part for new users is likely getting used to the format, but otherwise, it performed well when I got the hang of it. Being able to view more of a single web page at a time was a bonus, especially for websites with a lot of content to view.
