"Since the update to 42.0.2311.135 Flash crashes"

    May 4, 2015  |

    Version: Google Chrome 42.0.2311.135

    Pros

I used to love this product. However, I always used the regular flash and disabled the pepper flash because of the constant crashes.

    Cons

They no longer support anything but the pepper flash, which crashes about 40 times a day. Frustrating. Please correct this - I really don't want to switch browsers. I can't tolerate the constant crashing though.

    Summary

We need a rollback option - the new version is terrible.

"Lost a lot of data following a Chrome update."

    May 1, 2015  |   By jomigagain99

    Version: Google Chrome 42.0.2311.135

    Pros

Can't think of any, since I have now switched browser to Firefox.

    Cons

    As one line summary.

    Summary

I have used Google and Google Chrome forever. Then, about a week ago, I found a whole raft of Excel files had disappeared. From having 42 GB of free space left on C: drive I now have 50 GB free, so I guess my files are no more. I am only guessing that it was a Google glitch, because I am only partly computer savvy; anyway I'm playing safe and moving on. Sad, that, because I really liked the early Google.

"Resources Hog Shows Little Restraint No Responsibility"

    April 29, 2015  |   By Poppypbr

    Version: Google Chrome 42.0.2311.135

    Pros

Clean, clear cut appearance graphically. It what they do in the background that causes problems for the private user.

    Cons

Uses your computer to process its private commercial business transfers that has nothing to do with your browsing. Will sometimes peak to 80% CPU and available memory while on a stationary page, affecting response times, causing pauses and stutters. Ridiculous constant need to update on a nearly daily basis for several minutes as if it was the ONLY software on the planet that mattered. (And they can never get it right once and for all.) Your computer no longer belongs to you because they think it belongs to them. Violates the EULA with Microsoft's "looking the other way" approval. Security zero. Vulnerability 100%. Keeps plenty of ports open multiplying your chances of infection and takes no responsibility for hardware wear and tear, computer crashes that they caused. No offer of antivirus protection, no communication, no explanation, no contact whatsoever. Just change your computer to accommodate their needs without your permission to make the public internet their private tool.

    Summary

Google, Microsoft, Verizon and AT&T need to be regulated by the FCC. They are dismantling the internet's usefulness through selfish corporate manipulation of private personal computers. Makes owning a good personal computer a liability. Simple and slow gets left alone. If you have crunch power to spare, you are a Google-Verizon-Microsoft-AT&T target.

    "Insecure and unstable"

    April 27, 2015  |   By matthew.laverick.5

    Version: Google Chrome 42.0.2311.90

    Pros

COMODO Dragon/Chromodo (COMODO's fixed version) and Opera are based on this.

    Cons

Chrome crashes, A LOT. Out of every virus I have tested in a virtual machine Chrome is the most infected.

    Summary

You are better off with another browser - it is nearly as bad as IE6.

"Google Chrome embedded every tool to invade privacy"

    April 20, 2015  |   By free_dl

    Version: Google Chrome 42.0.2311.90

    Pros

    Can't say anything good.

    Cons

1 - Chrome is embedded every possible tool to monitor users' online activities. Very much Google-style!
2 - I am so sick of getting a message that says 'Whoa! Chromium has crashed. Relaunch now?' I get this irritating message all the time when closing down a browser page.
3 - It is not flexible. There's no easy to do set up homepage, doesn't allow you to automatically manage your the privacy settings.
4 - Chrome always changes my language to German. No easy way to just fix it so it permanently recognise it is English I needed!

    Summary

I won't use this browser anymore. Back to Mozilla (even though Mozilla crashes and it could be annoying, too). I hate Chrome!

    "Looking for a replacement"

    April 19, 2015  |   By nmweatherman

    Version: Google Chrome 42.0.2311.90

    Pros

The pros are what Chrome used to be

    Cons

    Constantly crashing

    Summary

Really tired of Chrome crashing when it tries to load a plug-in (Adobe Flash Player). The browser keeps telling me "plug-in has crashed" or "stop plug-in" then "page has become unresponsive." I tried Comodo but it is just a Chrome clone. I won't try Vivaldi because it is "based on the Chromium platform." Microsoft is closing out IE support so I am left wondering if I will ever find a browser that works. Google is well aware of this continual problem but has done nothing over time to fix it. If anyone here can recommend a broswer that actually works, PLEASE let me know. I am desperate to get rid of Chrome.

    "This 'Chrome' sure doesn't shine!"

    March 28, 2015  |   By mpralf27

    Version: Google Chrome 41.0.2272.101

    Pros

It wasn't a big hassle to remove. I never had to deal w that Vosteran virus others have mentioned. I'll consider myself pretty lucky on that count!

    Cons

I don't know *** is wrong w Google Chrome. I looked forward to a great browser, but it has failed miserably. First time I loaded it it crashed and pages refused to load. I deleted the first install completely, even used CCleaner to remove all traces to be certain I could do a clean reinstall. BTW I have used the always dependable CCleaner (free version) for yrs and it's my favorite must-have cleaning tool! Anyway, next day I reinstalled Google Chrome and it acted the same way. To hell w it! I can't be bothered wasting time trying it again. I am no fan of I.E. but you can't beat it for reliability. But the browser I employ 90% of the time is Firefox. Other than the occasional annoying crash, it rocks! A computer geek friend is a big fan of Opera, but from what I see from others comments, it's a resource hog. To each his own I guess. I'll just stick w Firefox for now and use I.E. as my backup. I'll be glad to try a future version of Chrome when they eventually get the bugs out.

    Summary

The current version of Google Chrome just wasn't made for me. I have 24 GB of RAM and am using Windows 8.1 (not a fan at all, can't wait to dump it for 10!) Even though I use the Google search portal before all others, I am very disappointed. This 'Chrome' sure doesn't shine! IMHO it's a real clunker of a browser at this point. I'll be glad to try it again one day.......when they decide to give it a major tuneup - and if it's not loaded down w a lot of useless POS options I'd just naturally want to remove.

    "its just dumb"

    March 7, 2015  |   By jericho smith

    Version: Google Chrome 41.0.2272.76

    Pros

i cant think of any right now

    Cons

The new update decided to add a new task bar which i just hate. it displays my name on the top right and when i turn that off it displays my picture on the top left. it also displays my picture on the chome png on the task bar of windows. With the new update it also decides to save all the tabs i have open whether if i want them or not, this dramatically reduces the speed of google chrome. I am currently looking at new browsers because it is now to laggy and just to frustrating to navigate. I know its not my computer that is lagging, i am running a 8 core amd fx 8300, 16gb ram, 1tb black c hdd, msi 4gb graphics. Google has definitely been on a roll lately they just bricked my nexus 7 2nd gen i am now unable to connect to wifi, and i cannot open any app.
