"Fast, global zooming!"
Version: Google Chrome dev 11.0.672.2
Fast, global zooming, seamless integration with grooveshark extension.
Have not been using too long, but will hang when attempting to reach certain sites.
Being the trend setter in minimalistic design, Chrome continues to impress with speed, all the extensions I want in a browser, and much, much, more. Love the new option to set global zooming percentage, as I have a large monitor.
"Basically, the "normal" Chrome with new features"
Version: Google Chrome dev 8.0.552.11
Can try out new "experimental" features
Each tab is a separate process (and the task manager only ID's them with Google Chrome)
"Tab rip" cannot be undone
Missing some functions (such as undo close tab) w/o extensions
Installs in the appdata folder
Chrome is pretty good when you're just browsing the web, and the dev version, though less stable, enables some new features to make browsing better. However, the UI is barely customizable and the set-up is pretty much unchangable (no options to change how or where this thing will pop up, etc).
"realize beta but needs work"
Version: Google Chrome dev 7.0.517.0
errors on re-direct and download manager errors
not ready for prime time, but close with some srrors
Version: Google Chrome dev 7.0.503.0
looks are good
functioning is good
Chrome is not good to compare with firefox....
Firefox is better....
Version: Google Chrome dev 6.0.472.25
# - Like my title, it's quick.
# - You barely notice it's there.
# - It has a large extension gallery (including an ad block).
# - Although I expect this from a dev, it's very unstable (the stable release isn't).
# - The theme gallery is laughable.
# - Bookmarks are slightly awkward.
Speed alone out-weighs all the cons. The multi-thread technology allows each tab to run like it was in it's own browser. It's amazing.
"fast, left firefox due to how slow it was."
Version: Google Chrome dev 6.0.472.11
Seems very compatible with 99% of the websites.
does not work with http://mfr.mlxchange.com/ for my work. :(:(
FAST FAST FAST and very reliable.
"site is secure download legit. Google chrome 6 lovin it"
Version: Google Chrome dev 6.0.472.0
the revamp of the toolbars. the way you search Google defiantly love the new functionality of it. Not as many changes as i would have loved to see. thats why version 7 is still to come. I
they did not remove the more bookmark folder
they did not give us the ability to add another bookmark bar to store icon links.
I love Google Chrome. The browser is one of the best i have been privileged to use. I love this product even tho the update isn't to different. The small adjustments are just steps for more to come. I also like to stay up to date on my Programs , ie Google Chrome Browse. I just hope they allow us the user to be able to customize our Google Chrome Browser to meet each of our own Unique Googler's Needs.
Version: Google Chrome dev 6.0.458.1
Doesn't allow one to rearrange extensions icons fully.
Needs bug fixes, but after all, it's a development release.
Great update to Google's Magnificent Chrome Browser, a worthy successor to Chrome 5.
"WOOT WOOT 1st review yeah!!!"
Version: Google Chrome dev 6.0.427.0
New gray theme blends in to my desktop better.
The globe icon replaces the http:// prefix.
New tab animation.
Cons? What cons?
"Chrome Tarnishes Reputation for Efficiency"
Version: Google Chrome dev 6.0.408.1
There don't seem to be any obvious enhancements in version 6 vs. version 5. But anything I liked about Chrome before is still there. (And I tend to still use it with Google apps like Google Docs & GMail.)
I've yet to see a version of Chrome crash so often! I am using Windows Vista on an HP Pavillion Desktop with 2GB RAM. The installer created duplicate crash management services after I installed Chrome 6. And ver. 6 seems to gobble up more memory.
The frequency of Chrome crashing seems to be related to memory availability coupled with the flaky Google Crash Management services. But there's little doubt that Chrome 6 is eating up more RAM than its predecessor, suggesting that one of the early features emphasized ? efficient use of resources ? is taking a back seat to improved features.
I'm a software developer too, so I should probably have more than 2GB of RAM on my system, but Chrome 6 doesn't impress me much. Even if RAM gets critically low, the browser shouldn't just crash! IE sure doesn't...nor do most other apps I run on my system, regardless how much RAM is used.
Get it together, Google! You promised to clear a higher bar than your competitors (i.e. Microsoft) and before version 6 you could claim to be meeting that challenge insofar as Chrome was concerned.
