Version: GoldWave 5.54
"User friendly loads of features"
Pros: Easy to use to transcode .wav to .mp3, record from mic/line inputs, trim/cut/paste, etc. Great for taking stereo line outs from my mixer so I can save LP and Cassette music to mp3 files. The free version was also glitch-free during the trial.
Cons: The playback feature stops at each trim point unless you 'select all' before playback. No way to place cursor at beginning of track for playback, without it starting to play automatically. No multi-track recording capability (that I'm aware of yet).
Summary: Great for the beginning audio engineer who needs to do basic record/trim/saving of audio files, and more.
