Version: GoToMyPC 5.0
"Same general idea as RealVNC, but easier to setup and use."
Pros: Its a required tool in today's business world.
It is web-based. RealVNC and the sort are standalone programs.
Requires no extra setup outside of installation of the program. RealVNC and the sort require port opening/forwarding if the user is behind a firewall or router. GotoMyPC doesn't require this since the traffic is through the web. WebEx is the same way.
Cons: Its not free.
Its quite expensive.
Requires you to purchase more than one license if you desire to install this on more than one computer.
Their TV advertising campaign is quite annoying.

"They dont tell you it will cost $19.95 PER MONTH!!"
Pros: Same old thin client re-packaged
Cons: This is a scam. What they don't tell you is that once you go through the download hoops, you MUST SUPPLY a credit card which is BILLED ONCE YOU EXCEED your "free" hour!!!! On the downalod page it say $19.95 to buy --- This is fraudulent and deceptive. You must pay $19.95 PER MONTH!!! I am sick and tired of download.com false advertising.

"Why PAY for something you can get for FREE?"
Pros: Use logmein.com, instead! I was a long-time user of GotomyPC, as well as PCAnywhere. Logmein.com is BETTER, hands-DOWN! Easier to navigate and use in EVERY aspect - and you don't have to put down ONE RED CENT unless you want to 'upgrade' to the 'mega-version'. (which I found un-necessary, and I have ten pc's on my account and run my own business - so access to ALL my pc's is VITALLY important to me!)
Cons: again, WHY pay for something you can get for free?

"Not Palm, Can't uninstall, Others better"
Summary: Why is this in the Palm section when it doesn't work with Palm devices?
This product is suspect of spyware etc because I can't do a complete uninstall.
LogMeIn works way better and is free. Neither work on my Treo however. read more -

"Why pay for it???? GET SOMETHING THATS BETTER AND FREE!"
Pros: does everything it claims to do. can complain...
Cons: ITS EXPENSIVE! who wants to pay for a service like this when you can get it for free...? i recommend going with the free competition at logmein.com its a great site with all of the same features, (when registering, get the free version)
