Gmail for iOS brings the power of Google's feature-rich email service to your iPhone and iPad. The most recent update includes improved search, swipe to archive or delete, and Undo Send.
Multiple account support: With Gmail for iOS you can create up to five email accounts and switch between them. This is especially handy if you accidentally start an email in the wrong account, then need to switch to the right one mid-email, or if you receive a message in one inbox but want to file it away in another.
Real-time notifications: Receive lightning-fast email notifications via notification center, badge, and lock screen options.
Send large files: You can send large files on Gmail without hassle. Any file that is over 25MB is just uploaded and sent via Google Drive link. Another perk: Attach a file from within your email by tapping the paper clip. Apple Mail doesn't currently have either functionality.
Undo Send: The iOS app finally has the Undo Send feature that's been on Gmail for Android and desktop. If you regret sending a message, simply hit the Undo button at the bottom right within five seconds.
Powerful search: Sift through your email quickly, and get search predictions as you type.
Great organizational tools: Your messages are automatically sorted into three folders: Primary for general email, Social for your social media-related notifications, and Promotions for retail deals and newsletters. Once you've read an email, you may archive, label, star, delete, or report it as spam with the tap of a button.
Swipe to archive or delete: To quickly clear out your inbox, just swipe left or right on the message in Inbox view, and it will be archived or deleted. To choose between archiving and deleting, head to Settings in the main menu, select your desired account, then the tab under General titled "When removing messages, I prefer to..." and select Archive or Move to Trash.
Integrates with Google Calendar and Google+: Answer Google Calendar invites and Google+ posts directly from Gmail for iOS.
Autocompletes contact names: Start typing a name or email address, and if it's in your Google contacts or on your phone, the app will complete it for you.
Personalized emails: You'll see your senders' and recipients' profile pictures in the messages. You may also customize email signatures with scribbles.
Threaded conversations: We're still not crazy about sifting through Gmail's often cumbersome threaded conversations, especially on a large group email.
Gmail's multiple account support, efficient message handling, and integration with calendar and contacts make it the best email app on iOS today.
