GCD provides two versions in one package, the stand-alone version and standard version. The stand-alone version works on one PC. It mounts Web storages as local folders. Users can access their Web files in Windows Explorer. It delivers Web applications to desktop. With File Type Association, GCD automatically chooses the appropriate Web applications for the current working file. If the application supports, it can save the update locally. To make Web experience easier, it provides single sign-on to Google applications, including Gmail, Google Picasa, Google Talk, and Google Calendar. The standard version works with multiple Pcs and requires registration on Gladinet Web site to create a Gladinet account. It includes all functions in stand-alone version, plus on-demand resource sharing and remote desktop access via RDP and VNC, which enables the user to share a single file or folder to anyone on the internet. Remote desktop access lets the user connect to other machine managed by the same user when RDP or VNC is enabled, even when it is behind firewall. For Web applications, it adds the support of Zoho Suite, Snipshot and PicNick online image processing.
Version 0.8.71 supports international characters in Google Docs, faster and more accurate Task Manager, and Adrive.
