Pros
First of all, it's free. It doesn't have a very colorful interface, but who cares? The speedup is amazing, as fast as Internet Download Manager but more intuitive and easier to use and configure. The cool thing I like is that it can detect redirected URL (as opposed to Star Downloader Free). For example,
If the URL contains:
getfile.php?file=music.mp3
Gigaget will get the file music.mp3 whereas some other freeware like Star Downloader would get the file getfile.php.
Cons
Hope it can show the completed percentage on its tray icon or taskbar icon so I don't need to open the main panel. Minor thing though.

I agree Anon_: Really great. Simply drag the download link to the icon in your browser (I use Firefox, and it works perfectly), and it downloads it. Seems simple, then you realise that it's going quickly. Really REALLY quick. I'm in New Zealand, and when downloading something from an Asian/Australian/US download site (Where most servers are) it goes 100KB/s on a 2mbit DSL line. But with this it ferrets out diferent servers with the same file, and downloads from multiple servers at once. Like Bittorrent, but for ordinary HTTP traffic. On a 2mbit line, downloads actually go at 250KB/s. Which means that when a popular linux distro comes out and download servers are being hammered, you don't need to worry about choosing a server that's horribly overloaded. I cannot recommend this enough. A must have if you plan on downloading huge files.

I have tried many download managers before and recently I found GigaGet, this application is fantastic!!!It has all necessary the features I need. Thank you, developers!!! You really improve my efficiency and save my time, now I want to make a prediction GigaGet will rule the download industry just like Google rules search industry.

For my own practice, Gigaget's performance is the best for popular and big files download. But I know its Net Grid tech could accumulate resources and it will get faster.
