"Did not find my deleted files"

Long story short, my data was completely deleted on my external harddrive (300gb), and then my harddrive was reformatted to NTFS and some files were written on top (<1 gb). I tried several sw in hopes to find one that saved data in it's original folder structure. GetDataBack was the only sw that could not even find my deleted files (other sw had found >20,000 files). All it did was run a 5 hr scan and then list the files that were currently on the harddrive (in their original folder structure).
Summary
The description on this sw manufacturer's website says that it can find data from reformatted drives. Not sure how that's possible if they have separate downloads for NTFS vs FAT32. I tried the NTFS version since my harddrive is currently NTFS. It couldn't find any files that were deleted.

Summary
If your hard drive crashed and "needs to be formatted before it can be used", then look no further. This program will save you. My 2 terabyte hd, that had 1.72 tb's worth of data on it crashed. After panicking tremendously, gnashing of teeth, and flailing about, I found this program. It works, and it works well. Crisis averted.
