"Demo Version Showed Files, Paid Version Restores as 0kb"
Version: GetDataBack Data Recovery 3.3
Pros
None. Waste of time/money.
Cons
-Demo version seemed like a bait and switch. Showed files I needed to restore and showed raw data in viewer so I purchased. Restored as 0kb files with no errors.
-No refund policy because developers say if you see files/data in demo, then it works in paid version. IT DOES NOT.
-Scanning took several days for a 2TB external drive even when connected through SATA
-Complete rip-off because the FREE program - Active Uneraser, was able to restore the full files that GetDataBack restored as 0kb files. Why pay for something that doesn't work when there is a free program that does?Summary
I recommend downloading the FREE program Active Uneraser:
http://www.uneraser.com
It was capable of finding and restoring the files in full, which the PAID version of GetDataBack could not and restored as 0kb files. -

"Great Product!!"
Version: GetDataBack Data Recovery 3.3
Pros
It works as advertised.I had my U3 Sandisk fail and had no choice to format it to get it working again. I thought I had backed it up on my hard drive, but didn't. This software recoved ALL of my files from the formatted sandisk.
Cons
It recovers the data for free, but to copy it over to your harddrive you have to purchase it. Also it cannot be installed on the drive you are trying to recover data from, which in my case was not a problem.
Summary
I was skeptical that it was going to work, but it is the best money I ever spent. Just goes to show data never goes away even after formatting the drive.

"Worked like a charm!"
Version: GetDataBack Data Recovery 3.3
Pros
This program was user-friendly and got great results.
Cons
I did not find any downside to this product. I wish I had bought it before wasting my money with Recover Data Tools in India - buyer beware!
Summary
Before using this program I purchased a program from Recover Data Tools. That turned out to be a huge mistake, their program was useless and I and lost $69. I then downloaded this program and it was able to restore most of my lost data immediately! I was happy with the volume of data recovered and the ease with which I was able to retrieve it. Great product!

"Absolute lifesaver!"
Version: GetDataBack Data Recovery 3.3
Pros
Very straightforward and easy to use.
Cons
Can take days to recover data if it is from an external hard drive.
Summary
This program really saved me. I woke up one morning to find I could not access my external hard drive (which was "corrupted and unreadable") which had over 100 gigs of important files I'd saved over the years. GetDataBack, as far as I can tell, was able to recover everything. This program is VERY simple to use and does everything it's supposed to. I would recommend it to anyone.

"Misleading... a waste of money"
Version: GetDataBack Data Recovery 3.3
Pros
None... that I can think of...
Cons
The trial version will find many files that you want to recover but after I paid my $79, and was able to copy the files to my new hard drive, they were all mostly corrupt and unusable.
Summary
I lost video and photos of our new baby and finding this software was a God-send. Unfortunately, as I mentioned above, the trial version misled me to believe that I was going to be able to recover them... I spent about 8 hours sorting and sifting through through 1000s of files to find what I wanted to recover only to find out that 95% of what it found was corrupt... the trial version is misleading. I was so unhappy with the software, I asked for my money back, but they refused to refund any of it.

"Recovered some but not all of my ext hard drive-"
Version: GetDataBack Data Recovery 3.3
Pros
You are first actually able to view what's been recovered before you pay for the program. There are newer versions available but free upgrades come with it once it's paid fro.
Cons
None so far. I tried several free programs and a couple trial programs that weren't able to find the amount of data that this one did.
Summary
Best one I could find.

"Awesome product! Works great! Worth every penny!"
Version: GetDataBack Data Recovery 3.3
Pros
My external 1TB drive somehow got corrupted and. Windows could no longer see the drive and offered to reformat it. i googled and found GetDataBack and was able to recover my important VM image that i had saved to the disk!
Cons
None, but it was a little sluggish. Took about 4 hours to scan my 1TB drive, but in the end, it was worth the wait.
Summary
In my case, it was great bang for my $79 since it would have cost me more than that to take it to a computer shop to try to recover my files, if they could.
Bottom line: Great price for a great product, since i was able to get my VM file back. :)
