"Full system backup does not work."
Version: Genie Backup Manager Home 9.0.567.891
Pros
Back's up individual files and directories are easy to configure and the backup is reliable.
Cons
FULL SYSTEM BACKUP (Disaster Recovery Backup) cannot be restored. Reported to technical support: Their official response: It seems that Genie Backup Manager can't recognize that there is enough free space on your RAM and this issue has been reported to the responsible department, so now it is better to reinstall Windows and your programs and then use Genie backup Manager to restore your data.
Summary
Good for incremental file backup. Don't rely for total system protection or DR scenario.

"The program aborted on me just as it was finishing."
Version: Genie Backup Manager Home 9.0.567.891
Pros
Nothing good to say, as it didn't finish.
Cons
For me, it was not worth the effort to download it, run it and have it abort on me. I'll stick with Acronis True Image or Bounce Back.
Summary
Don't bother with this software.

"A very useful program"

3) Flexible scheduling options
4) Creates executable Zip files
5) Allows verification of backed up filesCons
1) Initial backup took a lot of time
Summary
I have been using a "cloud" backup service (Backblaze--which I highly recommend), but have felt for some time that this wasn't quite sufficient, because of the time factor in getting back my files in the event of a hard disk failure. So, when I bought a 1 Tb external hard drive, I looked for an efficient way of doing a local backup that didn't use up too much disk space. I wasn't thrilled with either the Windows backup or the software that came with the external drive. I installed the trial version of Genie Backup Manager Pro 9.0, and recently purchased it. This solved the problem. Genie creates a self-executable zip file that uses considerably less disk space than the files being backed up, and I don't need to have Genie installed in order to do a restore. The initial backup took several hours, but I love the incremental feature which does subsequent backups in a flash, and I like the verification procedure that allows me to make sure all the backed up files are correct.
I have done several trial restores of different kinds of files, and each one has been restored in a form identical to the original. So I'm not quite sure what is meant by saying that everything is "raw data" and therefore "of no practical use". I had no difficulty at all finding the restored files, which I put in a location separate from the originals. Also, I have an AMD-based system, and the processor hasn't been an issue. I have not needed any tech support, so I can't speak to that issue.
I still have Backblaze as an "ultimate" backup, so that in case of fire, earthquake, etc., I'll still be able to get my data back. But Genie complements that very nicely. I'm quite satisfied with Genie, and would recommend it to others.
