"Pretty good, but BAD graphics. Looks sooo 95."
Pros: Easy to use, a lot of help with family trees!
Cons: Bad graphics. Otherwise great program.

Version: Genbox Family History 3.6.2
"Excellent program for serious users"
Pros: Takes an 'event' based view which allows for including data on witnesses to each event. This means much less data entry if you want to include all the information your sources provide.
Speaking of which, it has excellent sourcing capabilities - it's possible to include different sources for date and place of an event, for example. It also has highly customisable 'sentences' to create more flexible and readable narratives than most programs allow.
I have tried virtually every genealogy program out there, and haven't seen one with better charting capability.
This is a full featured program and as such may require a little time and effort to learn especially for those new to computers or not familiar with an 'event' based approach - but if you're serious about your genealogy it's well worth it.
Cons: Doesn't have quite the analysis power I would like compared to one of the other top end products, but is getting there with each upgrade.

Pros: Every report that you could want and every feature that you would want. TMG pales into insignificance!

"Best geneaology package around"
Pros: Excellent handling of sources and citations. Brilliant charts.
Cons: Lack of ability to assign a master source when importing a gedcom. In-elegant method of merging people.

Version: Genbox Family History 3.7.1
"Excellent, but not for the computer novice"
Pros: If you only want to put a bunch of names in and look at a Chart, choose another program. If you want to create a database of your family history, choose this package.
It has an extremely easy interface that allows anyone to jump right in and create a family tree. The front-end screen for data entry is simple and fairly intuitive. Very powerful database with ability to link multimedia files to your family tree.
After you go beyond the first screen, things can get a little complicated. This is where some computer savvy will come in handy. Not to say that is impossible to use, but someone with only basic skills may find difficult to use. Well worth the money for anyone interested in creating a really nice family tree dbase.
Cons: Print options for large family tree Charts seems to a little limited.
