"Nice Upload & download speed across NAT. Great VPN/VNC"
Version: Gbridge 2.0.0.1322
Pros
Across NAT, avg. up 750k-1.0mbps & dL 750k-1.0mbps on T1@1.5mb up&dL. You can use remote access with windows based remote desktop or others. Big feature I like are you can created mapped network drives.
Cons
Too many pros to list. But cons I would say it's not 3mb 5mb speed download and 1.5mb upload. Should include media share / sever application like Winamp remote.
Summary
I used the earlier version and it had user rights issues for folders that were secure shares and I believe it was only a Windows 7 issues. It was for sure repaired in the updated version/ There was a lot of chatter on their message board and an actual message board member found it was a regedit issue and firewall has to be opened for private and or public and home settings. Which is an easy task on most OS platforms but still I'm not complaining, quite clearly I figured it out and I love this product. As I said in cons I think it should include winamp remote properties so you are able to use media share that streams for a more flawless picture. But maybe that's asking too much then they could charge for that and this product is great free product.

"Very Very Good"
Version: Gbridge 2.0.0.1322
Pros
With my mother living about 100 miles away I do not have to remember every detail about her PC because she has XP and I have Vista. And she has a hard time following my instructions. So now I can just open her pc. That is IF she allows me in.
Cons
The first hook is hard. I had to give up and get my bother to run her pc to get it going.
Summary
I think it is a great software for the cost.

"Claim of "autosync" is false"
Version: Gbridge 2.0.0.1322
Pros
Works well for networking with remote computers.
Cons
Claims autosync but what it actually does is a two-way backup.
Summary
The false claim of synchronization docks it two stars, the three are for all the other features that are as claimed. What it does instead is require you to set up two separate functions, one on each computer, which are backups, not synchronization, because each works in only one direction. They rationalize that in this way the files are kept in sync, but in fact because these are two separate, distinct operations, there is much room for error. This deliberately misleading claim angers me. That this is a Google project is doubly annoying, since deliberate misrepresentations are 'evil' and their motto is 'Don't be evil'.
I eat my words. Came back in the interest of justice and fair play. I was furious when I discovered that Gbridge does not do a two-way sync, and called their system a double backup. But after trying all the other sync solutions I could find, some costing $60, and finding that altho they claim to copy open files they don't, and having a couple of the $60 ones crash my system, in desperation I tried Gbridge again and used a test file to see just how well Gbridge "double backup" does. I'm here to report that altho it's a little tedious to set up, once operating Gbridge accurately keeps the files on either end updated with latest revisions to the files, even when I set the syncs to be only one minute apart, and it copies saved copies of files even when the file is open, altho of course you have to close the file and re-open it to get latest update - there would not be any way around that. My apologies to Gbridge!
