"Not Worth Yet! Who is using it? Hate paying ebay to..."

    November 29, 2004  |   By Macariah

    Version: GarageSale 1.1

    Summary

    ...host my pics!!!
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
GarageSale is very easy to use, gives the user a good Mac friendly environment. This app has a somewhat cloudy future as it seems hardly anyone is using it. The developers need to offer more choices for users to configure it to their own liking.

I HATE paying eBay more $$ for hosting my jpgs and rather use my own image host. The costs of GarageSale is far too much as I can get better use out of Spare$ listing service though, it has a few minor problems with the Mac OS, (hopefully soon to change in 2005).

Another thing I find disconcerting is the total lack of anyone using this app on ebay. One month ago (Oct) I did a word search on garagesale's ad banner that is found on each every auction that uses garagesale and only 7 different users were found using GarageSale. I found ALL the auctions were using templates that were nominal or nonexistent and those that did were totally uninspiring and boring.

I just came back after searching garagesale and I find under 400 auctions and the overwhelmingly majority (379) of these auctions belong to a user named "garagesale" who is using another listing service not affiliated with garagesale!

This is the holiday season for pete's sake!! There should be tons of users!!! I, for one, will pass until we can configure and use our own alternative image hosts and they (garagesale), should lower their prices. This is an interesting app that has great potential. But, I resent having to pay ebay more money. Ebay makes enough money off us sellers and Im not giving them anymore, PERIOD!

    All I want it choice.

    "Great Application"

I recently switched to this application for my eBay sales. It's very good (and getting even better). It's very easy to use and has an excellent interface. Best of all, the developers are very responsive to problems and suggestions. It could use some documentation for new users. I highly recommend it.

    "Oh Yeah"

    Version: GarageSale 1.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is just about the best application that I've ever downloaded. Once I got the token worked out and turned off html when using my own html, it worked GREAT. If you do ebay on a mac with OS X, this is a must have. No more sizing, naming, and uploading photos, that's all auto now. No more page after page on ebay just to list each item. The first listing left me sitting there thinking that there must be something else I should be doing, it was so easy and user friendly that I was shocked. This is a seven star application.

    "Pretty cool app"

...but it could use a few improvements:

Better preview, preferably in your web browser...more options for inserting HTML tags like horizontal rulers, links and more...better picture management...and some more...

But even now I think it's worth the price and pretty useful...probably the best of its kind for the Mac so far...

    "Ship Dang Darn"

    Version: GarageSale 1.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I REALLY REALLY REALLY Liked the way this looks and works, BUT, I did everything right with the listing, photo and token, and when I go to list it I just keep getting error code 37 reading about some silly shipping thing and that I should check my API or some stuff. I checked in my pockets, desk drawers, under my bed and I don't have an API, but I got a code for you right here. I hope I can get it working cause it is super if it works. It's the most user friendly lister I've seen for mac, not that there are a lot out there for macs.

    "Very good program"

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
For those of you who don't want to go through the myriad of web pages to put in a standard auction, this is super! A little pricey, but the ease of use has convinced me to sell more stuff, so it sort of averages out. If they can figure out how to do it, an email client that would sort emails by auction would be nice as well.

Particularly for a first realease, this elegant utility does a fine job of posting and viewing ebay auctions. Easy to use with an elegant interface at a fair price.

    "No Buy It Now?!"

    September 25, 2004  |   By brossow

    Version: GarageSale 1.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
***?! Where's the option to enter a "Buy It Now" price? That, to me, is absolutely essential. I really like the interace as it more or less gives me everything I need as an occasional seller, but BIN is a glaring omission. I'll try it anyway, but this MUST be fixed before I'd consider buying it.

Price is also quite high for someone like me, who only sells occasionally. The convenience is nice, but it would take MANY sales of the small stuff I typically sell just to break even on the cost. A "tiered" version would be nice with a limit of, say, 5 auctions a week at a lower cost. Something to consider.

    "GarageSale"

    September 24, 2004  |   By 1psmith

    Version: GarageSale 1.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
    Very very easy to use!
However, it lacks some vital pieces that could have made it a great piece of software-- A. ability to set more than one shipping rate or to use a postage calculator B. ability to post images from other image sources than eBay, C. ability to enter other information related to categories and D. ability to choose countries to ship to in the first hierarchy of menus.
I found it a neat program and might well buy it if those deficiencies can be corrected.
