Those who often use eBay to purchase items may not like the Web site's interface. For those users and others who want to follow eBay items easily from their desktop, GarageBuy for Mac may be a useful program.
The program took a bit longer than expected to download, but started up immediately after it completed without any actual setup. It also asked us whether we wanted the companion iPhone app, but this was easily dismissed. There appeared to be support for updates. No instructions were available, but this was not a detriment since the interface was easy to figure out. The search bar at the top of GarageBuy for Mac is easy to identify and entering an item description quickly brings up available auctions. Large icons allow the user to place bids as well as track items for later reference and bid monitoring. Item descriptions, photographs, and time remaining in the auction were easy to identify. Sections also show where bids are active, won, lost, and expired. The program may also be customized to restrict search results by a number of factors, including minimum and maximum bids among others. The program is free and therefore there is no purchase requirement to unlock its full features.
Users unhappy with eBay's Web interface will find a fully functional tracking and bidding application in GarageBuy for Mac.
GarageBuy provides an easy way to search on eBay. Finally, an application that looks the way it should (using the Mac's native interface) to help you find and purchase items on eBay. GarageBuy is the first Mac desktop application officially certified by eBay for bidding.
This program allows me to win at eBay nearly every time at the price I want to pay. Combining it with Ken Rockwell's guidelines @ http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/ebay/index.htm make GarageBuy a VERY powerful method. Highly recommended.
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. The only real reason to use a third party tool for eBay (unless you are some sort of eBay pro) is to enable sniping. Garage Buy looks good, but since it doesn't permit sniping it is pretty useless.
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. This is an interesting product and nobody seems to have answered from GarageBuy about how it is totally useless and non-functioning. Maybe a negative rating will wake 'em up?
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com. Can't edit searches.
Can't easily restrict searches to one category - needs much cleaner way to choose category.
Can't choose which columns I want to display - much too much information for quick decision-making - too cluttered in table view.
Hate, hate, hate "US$ ..." right aligned prices. PLEASE remove (or make optional) the type of currency.
I would happily pay for this app as I think it could be very good if the author could allow more flexibility.
