Publisher's description of Galactic Civilizations II: Gold Edition Demo
From Stardock:Galactic Civilizations II: Gold Edition is a turn-based strategy game set in the 23rd century. Players take on the role of leader of a space-faring civilization and must colonize new worlds, negotiate treaties, fight wars, research new technologies, build trade networks, and more in an effort to emerge as the dominant power in the galaxy. Featuring outstanding graphics, a fantastic ship design system, and an unrivaled computer AI, Galactic Civilizations II: Gold Edition has won editor's choice awards from nearly every major PC publication (PC Gamer, Games for Windows, Gamespot, IGN, GameSpy, and 1up).
Galactic Civilizations II: Gold Edition takes the original GalCiv II (Dread Lords) and combines it with the Dark Avatar expansion pack. This demo gives players the ability to play in smaller galaxies as the Terran Alliance.

Version: Galactic Civilizations II: Gold Edition Demo 1.5
Pros: If you want to download something to muck around with for acouple of hours then delete then download it. I basic 2d space game.
Cons: The game is something that you would expect 10 years ago. Infact, if you have a older computer & are able to get a copy of Imperium Galactica (1 or 2) I would recommend that (and that is about 14 years old). Ps, if anybody can program, they should have a shot at a newer version of I.G.
Anyway, the full version of G.C. isn't worth the effort. A space version of Civilization this isn't.

Version: Galactic Civilizations II: Gold Edition Demo 1.5
Pros: This game is universally acclaimed. I haven't had so much fun with a turn-based sci-fi space conquering game since Master of Orion. This game does right what all the greats of the past did, and more besides.
Cons: I'd like it if I could buy a version that has the main game and both expansion packs. :) That's because I'm cheap, though, and it's what I'm waiting for. My score is for the main game, though, and the demo. (The add-ons, I have not played, but reviews say they're excellent.)
