Supports many files including .avi, .flv, .smf, etc. as well as your standard .wmv, .mp4, .mp3, which everyone would come to expect from any media player to support, of course.

I've had no problems with using GOM Player. So no cons coming from my experience using the application for several months as my default media player.

The player itself is still fine.
Cons
Unfortunately, it now has banner ads. Terrible, terrible idea on a video player, especially with VLC out there. Also, tries to get AVG toolbar and hijack your browsers to AVG homepage. Must pay attention during install or update to prevent this. They say you can OPT-OUT, but ethical companies make it where you can OPT-IN during installs. If GOM needs to make money, then charge for a version with more features like every other legit company.
Summary
DO NOT reward companies who use these tactics by downloading their programs. Just use VLC - a true open source free product.

its free and it plays 1080p files well. this is not my main media player, i like vlc better but vlc for some reason can't play 1080p files, its like the disk is full of scratches which it's not but this plays it perfectly

tries to install other stuff like avg but if you actually read the things your installing you can easily opt-out of that. also i saw an ad banner and i don't know if that's just a one time thing but if it isn't i will immediately uninstall it and look for an alternative
