"Does the job"
Version: Front End Convert Drop 1.1
Pros
Converting from flv. to .mov is a breeze, and no freeze (not trying to rhyme)
Cons
it's medium-slow, awkward how it functions, but it takes less spaces
Summary
Moral, don't use Popcorn (I have it and it froze my comp.), use this software, it works and it's free

"Works, and free"
Version: Front End Convert Drop 1.1
Pros
It does the job. When downloading you must save only the FE_ConvertDrop folder and the FE_ConvertDrop.alias. I've downloaded a flv file from Youtube, and this program could read it and converted it to the ipod mp4 format. It also give you an option to increase/decrease the video quality. Very good for the fact to be free, and it works.
Cons
BUT, VERY SLOWLY.. so don't try it if you do not have an intel core 2 processor

"Doesn't convert wma"
Version: Front End Convert Drop 1.1
Pros
In all fairness, I didn't try to convert other file formats.
Cons
I'd love it if my digital recorder recorded in another format, but wma is all I have. What is so hard about converting wma to mp3?
Wma is not a new format, so why not have it as an acceptable format for this application?
Useless to me.

"It has limited features, but it does the basic job."
Version: Front End Convert Drop 1.1
Pros
I think its main goal is to convert from avi to mov.
You have some control in the compresion, and you can add some filters, like tint, contrast, brightness, resample etc.
An uncompressed avi file of 250 mb, ends in a 1.6 mb quicktime movie, with good quality.
Its Free.
Cons
It only supports limited avi codecs.
It supports Intel YUV, Intel Indeo 4.5, and some dv codecs. But no Xvid or DivX.
It can convert some bitmap and audio files, but the interfase that is too simple for example, can only let you know the supported formats after trying to open a file.
The video filters seems to work only from avi to mov.
