"Beware! Suspected e-mail harvester!"
Version: Fresh View 8.0
Pros
Nice user interface, but not very useful due to nag start-up.
Cons
Publisher never sends promised registration code. See summary below.
Summary
Publisher requires "free" registration by entering your e-mail on their website. Using a "free" e-mail address is discouraged (I wonder why?). Promised registration code is never sent. I suspect this is a ruse to harvest people's e-mails. I started getting over 100 SPAM messages a day after attempting to register.

"Where's the Vista support?"
Version: Fresh View 7.78
Pros
See Cons...
Cons
The program won't run.
Summary
I'm running Vista Home Premium SP2 and the program crashes as soon as you run it. I don't know what it's doing wrong, but Windows intercepts and kills it right after it starts, and then pops up a DEP balloon down by the tray. So... where's the Vista support this listing claims to have?

"Virus Alert for FreshView by AVG 8.5"
Version: Fresh View 7.15
Pros
Can't tell, since AVG 8.5 warning persuaded me to not run this application.
Cons
Can't tell, since AVG 8.5 warning persuaded me to not run this application.
Summary
I just updated to AVG 8.5 last night and just today decided to try running FrewhView 7.44. AVG's Resident Shield immediatly gave me the following alert:
multiple runtime compression aspack.upx
Unfortunately, AVG doesn't explain this warning or provide further details (even on it's website). I can find no hints on the Web whether this particular error might be a false positive, so I am reluctant to run the software. I am presuming that if AVG's new 8.5 edition *stilll* reports this application's use of a upx file as "dangerous", it might indeed be dangerous. I am disappointed for two reasons -- one, that I don't feel safe to use FreshView, and two, that AVG 8.5 does such a poor job of explaining and checking errors within applications that have been out there for a very long time. Surely enough time has elapsed since the app's release that AVG could know whether this reported error is in fact dangerous or not. Searching their web provided no clues on either FreshView or on the particular error/warning message it showed me. -
"Spyware, Malware, and Scumware all-in-one"
Version: Fresh View 7.48
Cons
Not only is the software from this company total crap, they harvest your email for spam purposes. You can't get a free registration key (like it says you can), so don't bother unless you want more junk email. Impossible to remove without taking advanced-level manual steps. Bottom feeding scum with bottom feeding software.

"Possibly Infected!!!"
Version: Fresh View 7.15
Cons
Kaspersky Anti-Virus warned me at the first of the install of one of their products called Fresh Download 7.74 that it was infected with a generic trojan and deleted the trojan. Do not use any of their products!!!

"BEWARE! Look elsewhere for the features you need."
Version: Fresh View 6.30
Pros
I never used the software for more than a few minutes, as I found another program that was better for me.
Cons
I had forgotten the program was on my machine until I tried to open a file from windows explorer. Freshview opened, along with a nag screen informing me that the intro period had expired, and that registration was necessary. My machine seemed to freeze up. I was able eventually to close the program with task manager, then found the freshview folder and deleted it. To my surprise, the program is still installed and functional. If you can offer advice on how to get rid of this, please do so. Also am experiencing changes in the appearance of some windows. Related? I don't know.

"So close to cool, but not worth a damn"
Version: Fresh View 6.30
Cons
Really cool software UNTIL you need to register it. I tried three times and NEVER received a registration code that was supposed to arrive via e-mail. The nag screen won't go away or let me use the software until it times out (60 to 120 seconds). Screw it! I'm junking this program!
