"Excellent app"

I have been using Freeway since version 2.0 and for my needs is ok. I highly recommended to those with DTP experience and little understanding of HTML and/or software like Dreamweaver or Golive. It's easy to use and learn. Basically works like Quark (interface, shortcuts, etc) but it's publish to the web instead of paper.
The major flaw is that you can not edit your HTML code, but most of the time I don't need to do that. Anyway there is always TextEdit in my Dock.
I use Dreamweaver and Freeway and feel way more comfortable with Freeway.
And BTW a HTML document has no size, but you always have to design thinking on the screen resolution of you audience. -
"most missing: XHTML 1.0"

Freeway Pro doesn't support XHTML 1.0 in general and it works like a DTP tool, where you have to set the page size first.
But that's exactly what a web design tool should not do: restrict the layout to a special page size. A HTML page has 'per definitionem' no page size. The page size should always be a result of the length of the content and the browsers window size.
ÂÂ
And that's what a good WYSIWYG HTML Editor should generate: Content and browser independant pages which are displayed correctly in all major browsers and all possible window sizes
ÂÂ
And from a modern HTML editor I expect to support XHTML 1.0 as well.

No other web design application allows your creative juices to flow than SoftPress System's Freeway. The DTP style layout is 10 times more productive than the approach taken by similar apps. It's one of the most important pieces of software of my Macintosh. -

I used Claris HomePage for my first web site, Dreamweaver for my second, and now Freeway for all of them since. Freeway gave me what the others didn't -- a very nearly painless way to create sites without fretting over code. You just add your stuff -- text, graphics, etc -- to boxes on the page, then drag those around for easy placement. I love it. I just installed two add-on packages that Freeway calls "Fast Packs," and if they work as advertised, I'll now be able to do amazing things to photos and build sophisticated navigational systems without having to go into separate programs. I don't know how this program has remained a sleeper for so long. Maybe because it originates from the U.K. I don't know; I don't care. It's terrific, though. Try a demo. You'll see what I mean. -

this is easily the best, most powerful and most underrated webdesign program available on any platform. It just doesn't come any easier than this, and support should be the benchmark other companies should use. -

I discovered Freeway about this time last year and was more than happy to pay for it after just a couple of days with the trial version. This updated version introduces some interesting new features - least of which are the (at extra cost) "FAST" (Freeway Advanced Site Tools). I have paid for the upgrade to the Pro version with both FAST packages and have used them to save time already - no need to launch Photoshop for some image manipulation. Granted, it is not to the taste of all Mac users but I like it and it is perfectly capable of designing and managing any number of large/complex sites. -

SoftPress have simply split the price model into a starter version and a pro version with add on packs. I hope this is not going to be a sneaky way of generating revenue for old rope....
